Subject: RE: BS: Fox New is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 02 Feb 14 - 02:22 PM If were only true. They're ratings often drop between elections and peak during Presidential campaigns. |

Subject: RE: BS: Fox New is dying From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 02 Feb 14 - 02:34 PM But the new one is. Thanks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox New is dying From: gnu Date: 02 Feb 14 - 03:16 PM There is no such thing as Fox News. It's Fox Views and it's simply smart people manipulating the dumbmasses for $. The $64,000 Question was let off the hook in court because the defense claimed it was "entertainment" so spreading racial hatred is actually defensible in a court of law in the US. Sick; perverted? Well, so are many viewers, apparently. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox New is dying From: GUEST,michaelr Date: 02 Feb 14 - 04:37 PM That's good news. Please let me know when it's all the way dead. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox New is dying From: GUEST Date: 02 Feb 14 - 06:40 PM I will gladly piss on its grave. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Greg F. Date: 03 Feb 14 - 09:45 AM Big difference between brain dead and clinically dead. That goes for its viewers as well. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 03 Feb 14 - 09:52 AM Its called "Fox News" Gnu that's a problem and their tag line is "fair and balanced." |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Allan C. Date: 03 Feb 14 - 03:08 PM The sad truth is that there are people out there who use Fox News as their primary, and for some their only news source. May the deities bless their ignorant souls! |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Greg F. Date: 03 Feb 14 - 05:20 PM Better they should rot their ignorant souls. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: GUEST Date: 03 Feb 14 - 08:00 PM Fox is what happens when rich people decide to shape public opinion; to alter public discourse, and to direct citizens along the path of someone's agenda. That much is obvious. What is less obvious but certainly equally puzzling--at least to me--is the weakness of intelligence that leads to the brouhaha so readily accepted by the citizenry. Thinking people could not possibly accept Fox News at face value. IMO, anyone who does should have the lobotomy reversed--if possible. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. You got a window? Open it! Fox learned marketing from Sunday TV evangelist(ic) shows. They took most of that audience with them. And there they be. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Bugsy Date: 04 Feb 14 - 04:19 AM Fox News is dying? Boo Fucking Hoo! Cheers Bugsy |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 04 Feb 14 - 03:31 PM "Fox is what happens when rich people decide to shape public opinion; to alter public discourse, and to direct citizens along the path of someone's agenda. That much is obvious." Yeah obvious, but not the whole story. All in the Family was popular and funny because we saw people we knew in the characters. If Archie Bunker, the character was on T.V. now. His T.V. would be tuned to Fox News. Mike and Gloria would be watching "MSNBC" and "Democracy Now" on their iPads. There has always been a market for what FNN peddles. Now Fox and Limbaugh and others have learned to monetize that demand. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Greg F. Date: 04 Feb 14 - 03:45 PM If Archie Bunker, the character was on T.V. now. His T.V. would be tuned to Fox News. Yeah, Jack, but remember Bunker was a caricature & a parody. The present crop of ignorant, moron bigots is all too real. And THAT's the whole story. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 04 Feb 14 - 03:52 PM Archie's attitude was real enough. There were plenty of people at the time much worse and less likeable. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Greg F. Date: 04 Feb 14 - 04:45 PM There were plenty of people at the time much worse and less likeable Yup - and for a while, those assholes were on the run. Today, obnoxious ignorant moron bigots are a growth industry, thanks to Fox "News"[sic] and their ilk. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 04 Feb 14 - 04:57 PM At the very least they are a marketable demographic. That's all that counts in Capitalist media. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: GUEST Date: 04 Feb 14 - 05:26 PM I instantly lose respect for 'left-of-center' political figures (such as Susan Estrich and Dennis Kucinich) who sign on with Fox News so that the network can maintain the pretense of being fair and balanced. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Greg F. Date: 04 Feb 14 - 09:13 PM There is absolutely no one with pretentions to sentience that considers Fox "news"[sic] to br either fair or balanced. Shame on those assholes who choose to play their game. |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: GUEST Date: 05 Feb 14 - 12:18 PM News as a purveyor of 'information without spin' went south years ago. It has become an aspect of entertainment and persuasion, imo. Now we have the rich and famous helping to guide public perception. Pity that the population has been dumbed down sufficiently so that nearly half of the citizenry thinks creation science is a valuable contribution to the lexicon of human knowledge and that subjects like creationism and a universe that is only 10,000 years old are worthy of debate. Don't make sense to me. But people tend to defend what they are taught to defend. That part's easy. The difficult aspect of it is the explanation. One of my daughters at a fairly young age wandered by a Sunday morning "we will pray for you but send the donations or dazilted subsackous ill will befall you and screw your karma" religious show on TV. Even at the tender age of five she recognized BS when she heard it. Her remark as she passed the screen was, "Yeah, right!" |
Subject: RE: BS: Fox News is dying From: Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Feb 14 - 07:30 AM News, or any communication has always had a slant. Also there has always been money in telling ignorant people what they want to hear. The only thing new about Fox News is the size of the operation. |
