Subject: RE: BS: I have a question for fun From: Rob Naylor Date: 04 Apr 14 - 01:34 AM Akureyri! My wife and I spent 2 great holidays wild-camping near the head of a valley about 12 miles outside Akureyri in about 1983-84. We set our tent up on a flat area where a stream came down in a 20ft waterfall and then dropped another 20ft into the main river. Totally protected from the wind, fresh water 5 metres away in the stream and the occasional fish from the river. For other supplies we had to walk into Akureyri (and back again)....a 24 mile round trip, so it took the whole day. We stayed 12 days the first time and went back the following year, we enjoyed it so much. |
