Subject: BS: our first youtube. a stirring sight From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 02 May 14 - 04:43 PM I finally managed to download a YouTube video while preserving a little anonymity. I lost my gmail account in the process, but who cares about that? The video shows thousands of snow geese departing a wildlife refuge in Missouri, heading for Canada. The roaring sound you hear is all of them calling excitedly to one another. It's an amazing, stirring sight. The video could be better, but it's the best one available. Other people shot theirs from moving cars! (That doesn't work.) now departing Thanks to Mudcatters who helped me struggled through the protocols at YouTube. |

Subject: RE: BS: our first youtube. a stirring sight From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 03 May 14 - 03:59 PM It's good to hear from you all. The geese in the video are just some of the 1.2 million estimated to be on the refuge at that time. Snow geese mate for life, and I think the honking is the sound of thousands of pairs keeping track of one another as the great mass of similar-looking birds takes off. It stirs my heart. |
