I will go on as long as I'm content to do so.

A bit like Bardot, I hope to reach my 'peak' when Reclusive Mad Old Cat Lady phase sets in.

Not fully sure when that will happen, but I'm guessing maybe in my late sixties or seventies - if I'm lucky to get that far.

Well, I am right into 80s now, & still going. But my first wife, as some will know, took herself off at 72, no longer content (just the right word, Sister!) to go on by reason of degenerative illness which she declined to put up with. Time marches on, indeed -- but not necessarily at the same tempo for all...

Hi M,   I think Cilla was referring to an old age accompanied by perhaps dementia, or some crippling condition.

Not a lot to look forward to I suppose, and one does get a little "world weary", society seems to get more dumb every year, children more poorly educated, no idealism left, huge unemployment and drug problems for the young, no alternative to the media control we see around us.

We were the last free generation I think, and we blew it.
I'm 70 M and still working hard but I think 75 would be fine.....if I don't fall off a roof first!    :0)

I knew two people who made the choice for themselves, and I respected it totally. I hope I never have to decide, but I do want the decision.. if ever relevant.. to be MINE. That requires some clever planning in the US to dodge the invasive restrictions in most states.
