Subject: RE: BS: Alternative Radio From: Richard Bridge Date: 22 Jul 14 - 06:45 AM Should this be above the line? I use internet radio for BBC Radio 6 a fair bit, and some of the channels on 365 whatever it is. What a shame one cannot get the Radio Luxembourg archives! Or the original format of XFM. Or the great British "pirate Radio" stations. Ah yes, I remember it well... |

Subject: RE: BS: Alternative Radio From: Musket Date: 22 Jul 14 - 08:31 AM I have been known to tune into some of the UK based 24/7 folk channels and for a song or two all seems to be well. Eliza Carthy, Runrig, Albion Band, Seth Lakeman.. And then they throw in a corny Spinners or Ian Campbell Folk Group murdering rendition of a McColl number and back you go to BBC Radio 2. |

Subject: RE: BS: Alternative Radio From: GUEST,achmelvich Date: 22 Jul 14 - 02:58 PM radio scotland has good late (10-1am) programmes of interesting stuff - particularly roddy hart on a thursday. also jazz house on a wednesday 8-10 travelling folk thurs 8-10 and very good -ricky ross 'another country' on a friday 8-10 i'm lucky i don't live too far from the border to get these easily on fm. i used to love jarvis cocker on radio 6 sunday afternoons but he hasn't been on for a while. anyone know if he is ever coming back? john cooper clarke or iggy pop are ok but jarvis' shows were more than just tunes -always interesting and thoughtful. as was dylan's theme time radio - though that was more comedy really. |
