Subject: Tune Req: Tams version of over the hills From: GUEST,Musicboy Date: 23 Nov 14 - 05:36 PM A friend has asked me to play the Tams version of over the hills and far away for him to sing to. The chords are no problem and I can get most of the tune ok but I cannot get the melody of the "over the hills and far away" line for some reason and I cannot find it anywhere on the net (plenty of other settings, but not the one he wants). Please can anyone help? |

B A G A E G E E Over the hills and far away. All in one octave except for the AGA (...er the hills...)in the last line which dips into a lower octave. Key of D. Notes are roughly where they fall with the syllables. This is the way I remember Tams version. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Tams version of over the hills From: GUEST Date: 24 Nov 14 - 02:29 AM I sing this song in the key of C# which I think suits my voice. (I actually place my capo at the 4th fret and use A D and E7) Perhaps listening to a different version from John Tams might help with your problem in getting the melody. Mine can be found at: Over The Hills And Far Away |
