Subject: BS: Would you belive it ? From: MikeL2 Date: 02 Sep 15 - 09:39 AM Hi Yesterday we had trouble with our BT ( British Telecom) landline. After much filling in of questions and searching we managed to get hold of a Phone Number and we reported the fault. later in the day we received an Email message saying that they had been trying to contact us by phone ( on the one we had reported as a fault )but were unable to do so.!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, they were trying to talk to us on a line which we had reported as faulty. Sheeeeesh !!! Cheers MikeL2 |

Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 02 Sep 15 - 10:13 AM When you received the e-mail, had it come from a box labelled "Do Not Reply"? That would really put the icing on the cake. ============ I just read an article in the AARP (retired person's) magazine that showed that the latest Nigerian scams are slick cons where operators get money from lonely people through dating sites. The bad spelling and fractured English are things of the past. =========== MikeL2, I hope your landline is fixed. |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: Steve Shaw Date: 02 Sep 15 - 10:57 AM I've had exactly that experience with BT. On top of that, when you actually get to speak to someone, they are on a line from the planet Pluto and speak in a form of English indecipherable by the average human being. |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: MikeL2 Date: 02 Sep 15 - 10:58 AM hi Leenia No the Email didn't have a cannot reply on it. I haven't tried to reply though. They are coming on Friday to try to fix it. I have had another message to say that they think that the fault is either near to or in my home. I have to go to hospital on Friday to have the recent skin graft on my leg examined by the surgeon - who will give me a progress report. We have managed to have all our calls switched to mt wife's mobile so we are getting calls. Why her's ??? Cos I am hard of hearing and I'm even worse on a mobile. Happy Days. Regards Mike |

Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: MikeL2 Date: 02 Sep 15 - 11:47 AM Hi BWM I know how you feel. Sometimes I think somebody up there doesn't like me. Hope things start improving for you right soon. Regards Mike |

Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: GUEST,Bert Date: 02 Sep 15 - 02:23 PM And every time that you call your internet provider, you get put on hold and have to listen to a message that says you can get immediate support on their website. |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you belive it ? From: GUEST,DrWord Date: 02 Sep 15 - 02:30 PM I love the cycle of blurbs and ads while you're on hold, proclaiming their multi-year "greatest customer satisfaction" awards. Sheesh! keep on pickin' dennis |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you believe it ? From: Rapparee Date: 02 Sep 15 - 09:52 PM Yeah...unless it's the hold music from Hell that repeats in a continuous loop while a voice periodically proclaims "Your call in important to us." |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you believe it ? From: Steve Shaw Date: 02 Sep 15 - 09:57 PM Whenever I try to call CPL (coal merchants), I get put on hold with a message that invites me to look on their website for their "range of producks". |
Subject: RE: BS: Would you believe it ? From: GUEST,MikeL2 Date: 07 Sep 15 - 10:49 AM Hi We are still struggling to get BT to fix the problem with our phone line. The main problem we have is trying to get someone to talk to us. We just keep getting passed on to other people and they all keep asking for information we have given several times to several different people. We keep getting mixed information, some saying the fault lies on our property and others say not. I have carried out all the checks that they tell me to and nothing changes. Even borrowed a spare phone that we knew worked. They did divert our landline to my mobile which means I don't miss any important calls. At the moment I am in contact with hospital and medical centre all the time and they phone me regularly. I have tried to contact them to explain our situation but all they do is point us to somewhere that doesn't help us either. It is difficult to compose an Email because all there Emails prohibit replying. I did manage to talk to someone who appeared to understand but all that happened is according to them we now THREE faults.!!!!! We requested an engineer to come to the premises accepting that if the fault(s) were with our equipment we would pay the call out fee ( about £130). Yesterday ( when they weren't working) by some mysterious reason the line worked and we are able to use our landline again. I rang them today informing them of this and tried to cancel the visit of the engineer. Now according to them we now have FOUR faults - none of which according to them are fixed. Our phone and our broadband ( according to BT I now have a Broadband problem) are now working perfectly. !!! But not according to BT. Sheeeeesh !!! Cheers MikeL2 |
