Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: olddude Date: 17 Jan 16 - 06:35 PM Right now I know more people without health insurance than before Obama care. Most are paying the fine because the cost is so damn high on the plan. It's not good, we need to have some changes. The plans have good points but the cost for middle class is awful and the copay terrible |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,HiLo Date: 17 Jan 16 - 06:30 PM Aim not sure what point you are making Greg. When I worked inCanada my private plan covered dental and most prescription drugs. for all Camadians health care was free, government paid, it seems to work very well! |

Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: olddude Date: 17 Jan 16 - 05:08 PM And try Obama care, most of my friends health cost tripled. There is a ton of local friends who were dropped and told to go to Obama care only to not be able to afford the premiums. We still have a mess. Small Business use to get great coverage through the chamber of Commerce. Now the chamber dropped the plan for Obama care. We still have the world's shitiest health care options |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: Greg F. Date: 17 Jan 16 - 05:01 PM DENTAL? you've got to be kidding - in the U.S. Medicare doesn't cover dental, nor do most private and/or employer-sponsored plans. But hey, best damn health care in the world! Right? |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,HiLo Date: 17 Jan 16 - 04:44 PM Many Canadians go to Mexico for dental care which is not part of the medic care programme in Canada.. dental care is, if you can afford it, very good in Mexico. almost half the out of country Medicare outside of Canada is for procedures not covered by the national plan... Cosmetic surgery and dental surgery among them! |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,# Date: 17 Jan 16 - 04:35 PM Sorry. Hit the wrong key. Anyway, onward. Only 52000 Canadians went elsewhere for health care out of a population of about 34,000,000. If anyone wants to figure that as a percentage to compare with American numbers, be my guest. And have a NICE day. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST Date: 17 Jan 16 - 04:31 PM http://www.patientsbeyondborders.com/medical-tourism-statistics-facts The people at that link estimated that 1,200,000 Americans went to other countries for health care. That's about 3.5% of the population. The latest figures I can find show that 52,000 Canadians went elsewhere for health care. That is about |

Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,Ralph Date: 17 Jan 16 - 01:16 PM Why do Canadians have come to America for health care? The United States population on July 4, 2015 was: 321,442,019 Canadians should learn how to count. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,HiLo Date: 17 Jan 16 - 11:16 AM Much of Canadas social safety net is paid for by Canadian Tax Payers from what I recall. A Goods and services tax is levied on most items and this contributes to medical care. It is not other peoples money, it is money earned by selling commodities, it isn,t a charity. If 34 million Canadians can fund health care for all citizens, perhaps America ought to think of a way for 400 million people to do the same. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,Ralph Date: 17 Jan 16 - 11:01 AM Canadians can pop off all they want about America but they depend on exports of their natural resources to America to pay for their social programs, the spending of other peoples money. Now that tar sands oil is less than $9 a barrel, their balls are in a sling with the loonie [very apropos] going for 69 cents American. So canuckians can stuff socialism up your snortch hole and mind your own business. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: gillymor Date: 17 Jan 16 - 09:58 AM Once again, well done on "Begone You Neocons", Pound Sign. The positive refrain makes me hope that Americans won't forget the crimes of Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Kristol et al, and to realize that some of the Republican candidates are espousing the same brand of imperialism. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST Date: 17 Jan 16 - 08:42 AM "As a Canadian, you must be getting fully entertained, watching the soap opera!" GfS, I take no pleasure in it at all. We had a near-miss with Harper, a Conservative POS who 'led' this country close to a very restricted form of democracy more in tune with most dictatorships than anything we'd recognize as freedom. I would wish that on neither friend nor foe. The Conservative stranglehold on people has got to be broken, and that means breaking the Conservatives whether they be in Canada, US or the UK. Trump simply shows that the lunatic fringe is alive and well in the US as it is elsewhere. But look at his numbers. He's receiving 33% approval ratings from registered Republicans. Put another way, look at it like this. Approximately 45% of the US usually votes Republican. Thirty-three percent of 45% is 15% of all Americans. So Trump is little more than a piece of snot hanging from the face of what was once a great country. You want your country back again, concentrate on getting Democrats elected. I'd prefer that you concentrate on getting Bernie Sanders elected, but Clinton would be substantially better than any Republican, so even if you lose you win. Here was my small contribution to helping rid my country of the disease of Conservatism. Hope you enjoy it. (My voice wasn't as good as I'd like it to have been because I'd recently had some major surgery and was still trying to recover. Not an excuse--just an explanation.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey1OKOdlvXA&list=PL5QgoDJ6aONSddoCzX6vTgIB5y3OWqHPB&index=4 PS Steve is a good guy and I wish you would patch things up with him. Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,R Sole Date: 17 Jan 16 - 03:29 AM This side of the pond, we just love soap opera. Your Donald is entertaining, and Parliament has to debate, after a petition got enough supporters as to whether to ban him from entry to The UK on grounds of incitement to terrorism. Meanwhile, he says if they debate it, he'll pull out of building golf courses in Scotland. The Scottish government in return are cranking up their opposition to his plans anyway, citing the first attempt as a blot on the landscape. Give us a bit more about Cruz. He must be good for a few belly laughs. Clinton meanwhile has good street cred with many of your allies, and as your economy is no longer the big one we all pander to, you increasingly need friends. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: GUEST,Guest from Sanity Date: 15 Jan 16 - 07:06 PM olddude, ..I'm not affiliated with ANY party, so i don't favor any party over another, BUT I do pay attention to who's bullshitting who, when they're running for office....and the Clintons have been MEGA-bullshitters for decades...and phonies from the start....just like the Bushes. Being as my focuses include music, psychology, composing, and writing, it pays to keep my 'filters' clean and as objective as possible...and that includes making excuses to cover the 'misdeeds' of one party's sweetheart over another.....remember, I'm the guy who thinks that the ballots should include a box to check off that says, 'None of the Above'...but in fairness, and without getting into a 'debate' about it, what do you like about Hillary...just out of curiosity....and if you can, include some of her 'accomplishments', either as Senator or Secretary of State....(They both seemed to be clouded up with corruption scandals, some of which haven't come out all the way....and BTW, Obama don't care too much for her, either. The reason the FBI and Justice Department haven't 'closed shop' on her yet, is that her corruption includes some real biggies, both parties, foreign countries, both friendly and hostile, and some mega corporations....if she goes down, the fact that she can implicate and pull down a widespread host of 'fat cats'. I'm sure negotiations are as busy as they can be...and another, 'BTW', Billy Clinton, who has profited from Hillary's 'negotiations' for the Clinton Foundation, in which there has influence peddling, would bring the charge of treason to both of them...(that's NOT an opinion, but the letter of the law)... .....but you'll vote for her...because she's a Democrat and a woman???? ....anyway, as this stuff comes out, you'll see 'The Donald' smother her with Jello...It could annihilate the 'Democratic Party'.....(don't feel alarmed though, the Democratic Party has taken blows that it may not recover, for a LONG time, thanks to the dupes, who will NOT demand honesty from their party's 'representatives', but instead fall into line by making lame excuses for them....just because they're Democrats!! ...and by the way, Republicans should wise up and follow suit...but I doubt either one will. .....Back to the music....it tells the truth....if the filter is clean, and the heart objective.... Regards, Dan....(but do include why you like her) GfS |

Subject: RE: BS: The Donald only please From: akenaton Date: 15 Jan 16 - 06:37 PM Dan, you're a nice guy and I see where you're coming from, many people are nice enough in a social setting....I suppose there are those who think President Bush a nice man to speak to and have a laugh with, same could be said of Tony Blair(well maybe not TB)but you get my meaning. The problem is that Mrs Clinton made some exceptionally bad decisions in Office, the worst being the push to turn US firepower on the recognised government of Libya, with disastrous results. She compounded that by joking about the horrific death of Col Gaddafi, a serious flaw in someone who aspires to statesmanship. There were other serious mistakes which have been detailed above, all in all her CV is questionable. It could also be argued that Team Clinton used their position, foolishly offered by President Obama, to undermine him and pave the way for a tilt at the presidency by a Hawkish Hillary. Politics is a rather grubby game and really nice people within it are as scarce as hens teeth. Some may think that my opinions on this subject are invalid due to the fact that I am Scottish, not American, but our countries and their foreign policies are bound together through NATO.... and who is in charge of the Yankee Button is of great importance to us. |
