Subject: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 16 - 04:32 PM GO PATS! Got me hoody and hat on. Saving the lucky jersey until next week... or half time if required. The Chiefs are scary good so... ? Depends who is healthy. Are you READY? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 16 - 08:00 PM Next weekend, I breakout the jersey! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 16 Jan 16 - 09:21 PM Order a pizza! They are competing. Seriously... this is when they will make you the best pizza all year long. THIS weekend. The best all year. Urp! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Rapparee Date: 16 Jan 16 - 10:55 PM And the Cubs win it all, 27-20! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 17 Jan 16 - 04:36 PM I fell asleep. Hopefully, the next game will be not so. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Rapparee Date: 17 Jan 16 - 05:01 PM Which one? The Pirates vs. the Buccaneers? The Patriots and the Maple Leafs? (And shouldn't that be the "Maple Leaves"?) |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 17 Jan 16 - 07:57 PM No... it's "The Leafs". Now... who the fuck called that run play after three straight first downs on passing plays to LOSE THE FUCKING GAME? Steelers stole themselves with that bullshit. Man am I pissed off! Ya get ONE good run and ya keep doing it all game with NO... NONE... NADA... success and ya decide to go back to that bullshit when the chips are down? W.T.F!??? Self-destruction stupidity! Oooohhhh me nerves! On the other hand, I get to watch the Pats destroy the Broncos next weekend so it's all good. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 18 Jan 16 - 06:41 AM What game were you watching, gnu? When the game was on the line the Denver offense and defense stepped up and the Steelers stepped down. That fumble was forced by the Bronco's defense after a decent run and could just have easily come on a short pass. Gotta say though, it was a well-played game and the Steelers gave a good account of themselves. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 16 - 09:28 AM They were on a roll. They had time left. They were doing well until they stopped doing what was working. I thought the Broncos played, at least in the first half, far below their potential on both sides of the ball. They did well against the run, especially the run up the middle, over and over again... which was my main complaint... over and over again. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 18 Jan 16 - 10:53 AM Some good points there but still the Broncos finished and the Steelers didn't. On their last defensive stand the Steelers couldn't stop the Denver O and on their last offensive drive (with about 2:40 left and 3 timeouts, an NFL eternity) the Broncos stopped them cold. It ain't how you start it's how you finish, the Carolina/Seattle game to the contrary. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Rapparee Date: 18 Jan 16 - 08:32 PM "Pats" is a four-letter word. It is not used in polite company. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Louie Roy Date: 18 Jan 16 - 08:40 PM I'm going out on a limb but here are my predictions for the remaining of the football playoff. Broncos 7 points over the Pats and the Cards 3 point over the Panthers. If I'm wrong it will be the first time in 91 years HA HA |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 16 - 08:49 PM "... and on their last offensive drive (with about 2:40 left and 3 timeouts, an NFL eternity) the Broncos stopped them cold." THAT'S what I said. It was the run after... oh... never mind. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Louie Roy Date: 19 Jan 16 - 12:14 AM One other thing I didn't mention in the original thread then for the national champion ship the Broncos over the Cards by 10 points |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 19 Jan 16 - 08:20 AM Broncos by 1 and Panthers by 3 but I'm just pulling for some interesting games. Louis, did you call the Bears by 73 over the Redskins in the 1940 Chip? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Louie Roy Date: 19 Jan 16 - 04:01 PM Gillymor it fun to bet with yourself nothing lost nothing gained. However a few years ago I called the score of the Saints and the Packers by three a month before the game |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 20 Jan 16 - 09:35 AM I also handicap them just for fun, Louie, but I did wager a bottle of good whisky on the Broncos/Pats to be consumed by both parties on Super Bowl Sunday so I win either way. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: olddude Date: 20 Jan 16 - 11:14 AM Panthers I don't think anyone can beat them this year even Payton or tom |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 20 Jan 16 - 01:34 PM Yup... I think the Panthers could beat the Pats. 17 injuries! Check em out. It's brutal. But, I have faith in Belichick. As far as I am concerned, he's the biggest reason for the success. And he ain't on the injury list. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 21 Jan 16 - 01:54 AM I just made the dumbest bet with a friend in CO. I'm a Pats fan and I said I'd give my CO friend a case of Sam Adams if the Broncos win, and he gives me a case of Coors if the Pats win. I'm screwed either way! |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 24 Jan 16 - 06:46 PM Denver D does it! What a show! Now, the Pat's secondary was great and their line did well but the Denver D just shut it down. That was top notch! Now. Let's see another hard fought game. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: Lonesome EJ Date: 25 Jan 16 - 12:34 AM Really well played game Pats/Broncs, but the Broncos D kept Brady on the run and out of synch with his receivers. Can they stop Cam Newton? Doubt it. But I thought the Patriots would win today too. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 25 Jan 16 - 08:43 AM To me,Brady was almost as impressive as the Denver D, he took a pounding, didn't cough it up and almost pulled it out. Credit Manning for doing what he had to do, playing error-free and letting the D carry the load in the 2nd half. Great game to watch. Gronk and Cam are 2 of the best football players I've ever seen. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,Jack the Sailor Date: 25 Jan 16 - 11:49 AM How about them Panthers? Keep Pounding baby! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 25 Jan 16 - 04:51 PM I think the Panthers will win but I don't think it will be rout. I just wanna watch a good and close game. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,Jack the Sailor Date: 26 Jan 16 - 10:42 AM A close game would be fun. I think that the Broncos will play better than the Cards and Seahawks. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 07 Feb 16 - 06:54 AM Today on this holiest of days I prophesy Panthers 27 Broncs 10 although I'd like to see Denver win a nail biter. Coldplay,WTF? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gnu Date: 07 Feb 16 - 07:42 AM Agreed. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,# Date: 07 Feb 16 - 11:17 AM The 27 might be a bit low, but I figure the Broncs for three TDs. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,# Date: 07 Feb 16 - 02:09 PM There's the rub. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: GUEST,Louie Roy Date: 07 Feb 16 - 10:55 PM On January 16 I went out on a limb that the Broncos would beat the Pats by 7 the Cards by 3 and the Cards in the Super Bowl by 10 but it was the Panthers by 14 Louie Roy |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 07 Feb 16 - 11:30 PM Not bad, Louie. I called it 27-10 and was only off by 3 points though I did have the winner/loser part ack-basswards. It was an ugly but gripping game. Kudos to that Denver D and to Kubiak for trusting in it and not letting his offense lose the game. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL playoffs 2016 From: gillymor Date: 07 Feb 16 - 11:34 PM ...and so happy for Peyton. One of the best all-time and for me the most fun to watch when he was running the no huddle. What a way to go out, assuming he does. |
