Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Kampervan Date: 23 Jan 16 - 12:12 AM I know that it's said every time this happens, but what is it that prompts someone to just go out and kill? Its just tragic and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: GUEST,# Date: 23 Jan 16 - 01:30 AM We've had too many of them up here. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: GUEST,# Date: 23 Jan 16 - 01:47 AM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Loche It is a sad day to be Canadian. |

Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Rapparee Date: 23 Jan 16 - 07:16 AM At least the suspect is in custody. Perhaps we can learn something that will help prevent such things. |
Subject: BS: Trouble in Canatopia From: GUEST,Buzz Date: 24 Jan 16 - 11:12 AM La Loche, Sask. School shootings: Male, 17, charged with 4 counts of 1st-degree murder Teachers Marie Janvier and Adam Wood, and brothers Dayne and Drayden Fontaine were killed in Friday's shooting. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Mrrzy Date: 24 Jan 16 - 02:40 PM Ah, I was about to post how the Canadians were being grownups about the reportage, at least, and protecting the identities of the victims. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Charmion Date: 24 Jan 16 - 06:53 PM Why withhold the names of the dead? They have to be made public when charges are laid and especially when the killer comes to trial, and in a community that small they could not be kept secet anyway. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: GUEST,Charmion's brother Andrew Date: 25 Jan 16 - 10:46 AM The names of the dead are part of a public record. The wounded are entitled to privacy and not made public. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Rapparee Date: 25 Jan 16 - 10:49 AM As it should be. I understand from the news that a reporter tried to get family statements by posing as a friend, and was tossed out by hospital security. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: Mrrzy Date: 25 Jan 16 - 11:26 AM The families' need to grieve outweighs the public's right to know, it the opinion of this reporter's kid. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: GUEST,# Date: 25 Jan 16 - 11:35 AM Well, there's your opinion and then there's the law. C'est la vie. |
Subject: RE: BS: La Loche, SK From: GUEST Date: 25 Jan 16 - 04:36 PM It is being reported that the boy that did the shooting had been subjected to relentless bullying and was taunted frequently about his large ears. He passed over those who had treated him with kindness reportedly saying "oh no not you bro" before moving on. Interestingly, although there is profound sadness being expressed by the residents of the community there is very little obvious anger directed at the accused. |
