Hey, MikeL2, another blinding goal from Rooney tonight. Except that the bugger was offside! We deserve better. :-(

Hi Steve

Sorry for hiccup.

Yes it was a great goal. OK just a wee smidgen offside, must have been almost impossible to see that real time.

In fact the third goal too was ever so slightly off side....but hey we need all the luck we can get.

Not a bad game to watch but certainly not a classic.

Right result for us though...

Cheers

Mike

...Apparently you must watch a LOT of T.V....enough to not be able to read and comprehend something simple, as suggested in my post...and then you try to interpret it into something else that I was NOT alluding to... Notice the difference in the peace, and depth of thought, vs jumping into the world of make believe??...

Ahhhh, OK. were you referring to this "peace and depth of thought"

Just THINK(for a change) on how much you think you know.
IE, the peace that you induce with the confrontational "think for a change"?

Or was it the depth of thought that lets you state
how much you think you know...that you got from television, and the accumulation of fictionalized 'facts'!
In other words your assumption that other people all get their information from the TV?

Or maybe it was the fact that you seem to believe that no one who watches TV does anything else? As in
just for an experiment: Go out into the woods, or somewhere in nature, take a long walk,

The whole post was, in summary, the complete and utter shite I had it pegged as in the first place.

I'll tell you what. I'll agree to 'read and comprehend' what you write when you
a) Learn to address people you do not know in a reasonable manner
b) Stop making stupid assumptions and
c) Educate yourself in the correct use of the English language.

If you find that too complicated for your tiny mind I'll make it simple. Fuck off and don't come back until you know how to behave in decent company.

An almost 'nice' try to twist what I posted, but nonetheless a stupid post, Dave....so, I'll accommodate your lack of comprehension one more time.

Compare, that's all, JUST COMPARE, your state of mind, (if you can even remember what that is), with a peaceful walk in the woods, or a natural setting....then when you return to the house, flip on your T.V., and note the difference.

That's ALL...no need to ASS-ume anything beyond that!

Simple....and I'm not attacking you, though you may wish to ASS-ume otherwise!!

There are INSTINCTS, natural to humans, (and most all living creatures on the planet), whose natural instincts are made more prevalent in nature, than those, INDUCED by artificial stimulation.

Why should that be so hard to grasp???

As a side note: This is SUPPOSED to be a forum in which MUSICIANS give their views, and thoughts about various subjects. As a musician, you'd THINK(?) that you'd appreciate the THOUGHT(?) about someone reminding you, as a MUSICIAN, to stay in touch with our inherent instincts, instead of instantly turning a useful SUGGESTION, into some twisted, politically based SPIN SESSION.
OK??

Is that simple enough for you??
If not, see if you can ask a friend to help you understand it...or maybe you can ask your T.V.....

...or maybe take a quiet, peaceful walk in the woods, or a natural setting, and take some time to REFLECT!!

...you might even have a new tune pop into your head.

Guest, (with obviously understandable reasons), Well you sound pretty well knowledgeable about it..care to share your experiences!

Backwoodsman: "More completely unintelligible gobblygook...(blah blah blah)"

Well, being a 'backwoodsman' I'm sure your comment reflects a certain politically induced dementia, not knowing what I'm talking about!!

I'm sure my post, which seems to have 'disturbed' the local gang of trolls is actually pretty clear. If you have any ability to think and reason, I'm sure you know exactly what I've suggested.
So while you're playing 'dumb' I'm surprised you haven't awakened Greg F. from his under-the-bridge slumber....because 'Guest', Backwoodsman' and 'Dave the Gnutt' are getting absolutely NO traction, pretending to be stupid...Fair enough??

No take your walk in the woods, and avoid suspicious looking bridges.

What do they call it in America ? "circle jerk ???"

the TV set would have to be in the middle, but not everyone would be able to watch it
unless the circle was constantly on the move rotating ?

But maybe that's not so unusual in America ????

Just to please you, goofus. Well, not really I was going anyway. Still, I did 7.5 miles this morning up to Lund's tower and back through Cowling and Lyndhurst woods. State of mind. Relaxed. Happy. Peaceful.

Had a bite to eat then watched the next episode of Jessica Jones. State of mind. Relaxed. Happy. Peaceful. Pretty much like it always is except when I have to put up with some of the complete bollocks on here.

You know nothing about me. State of mind or otherwise. But that does not stop you from making it up. There are words for people that do that. Not sure if fool or idiot is the most apt.

"Panties Soup" a recent short lived American Netflix sitcom concerning 2 aging 'working girls'
a pre op transgender retired construction worker, and a hetero sexual dragqueen, sharing an apartment next door to an extremist evangelical church.

Many a comical moment was promised around the washing machine and back yard clothes line.

I'm not surprised gfs referenced it as he is displaying a very keen knowledge of current trends in US TV.

HI Dave

I read your earlier post and I have the same kind of choices as to when you watch and what you watch on TV.

One exception is that I like Vera. Watched it on Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think Brenda Blethyn is a great actress. Especially as I read today because she is now 69 years old she is unable to perform her old party trick. I quote " Brenda Blethyn , 69 said she used to be able to balance a pint of beer on her head and pick up a scarf on the floor without spilling a drop".

Surely any man could like a lady who could do that??

At our rugby club we had a guy who used to stand on his head and drink a pint of beer without spilling it. It had to be one of the old dimpled pots.

In that fine Play Mr Banglestein's Boys it showed a guy biting a pint pot and chewing the piece around in his mouth.

This was written by Colin Welland who played local rugby union and was better known in the 60's TV Police Drama Z Cars.

Cheers

Mike

Hi Dave

We had a guy in our club who had no "clacker".

He didn't eat the glass but was very useful in that silly game called The Boat Race was inevitably played at some point during " drinks after the match".

It was ( and still is) a game of two teams all of whom hold a full pint of beer. The aim is to drink the beer a quickly as you can. The next player cannot start until the previous player finishes.

This player we had could down his pint almost as quick as quick as the eye could see. It was like pouring down a drain. When he played we rarely if ever lost.
"
Those were the days my friend..........."

Sorry, you're not as hip as you think you are.....the line was used in the 1979, Steve Martin comedy, 'The Jerk', when Steve says that to the father of the girl he was pursuing.

As usual, TV is a bit behind times.
You're just a little slow, and trying too hard to be politically hip.....but reality has it a different way.
