Anyone been watching the BBC4 Shakespeare plays in "The Hollow Crown" series? They're on too late for me - 11pm each night - so I've been watching them a day later on the iPlayer. I've seen Richard II and Henry IV Parts 1 & 2 so far - Henry V to be watched tomorrow - and they've been absolutely superb. The quality of acting and the intelligence and feeling with which the words have been spoken, plus the production, has really brought them to life. Simon Russell Beale as Falstaff has been a masterclass in acting, out of a cast of well-known faces too numerous to mention.

I remember "doing" the plays at school for GCE "O" Level, and enjoying them at the time - we had a great English teacher - and am enjoying them even more at the moment.
