Very surprised to see this song has not been discussed on the Cat before.


I can't quite figure out what Davey is doing here, the tricky chap. Can anyone help?

Also general thoughts on the song, its very hard to find info about it. Various other "Cocaine Blues" songs come up excessively.

Incidentally, I titled the video "Cocaine Blues" so as to avoid confusion with J.J. Cale's "Cocaine". :-)

The first part of the video plays what Davy used to play, as accurately as I could get it having seen him play it on ssveral occasions, and the later bits are some improvs on the theme.

There is in my opinion a more interesting version of this ,no offence to Will, he is very good, ,I BELIEVE ITS VAN RONKS VERSION
THE SECOND PART GOES THUS E[hey babe wont you   "E7 come here quick" F this cocaine[D7 PLUS9 ON THE LYRICS "its making me sick"] C ON THE WORD "CAINE", G7 on ALL AROUND MY, C ON "BRAIN". the d7 plus 9, a c7 shape on third fret down to C WITH LITTLE FINGER playing 3 fret g on 1 string is imo more interesting chordally
