Trump Chump may be a looser, but these are unsettled times.
We, in the UK, thought Brexit was a joke, we KNOW Boris Johnson is a joke, despite the fact that he is a survivor against all expectations.
And we look with fear and trepidation at what is happening in the US as we speak.
We remember how a Bush was in charge of the voting system in Florida which made all the difference for the less intelligent brother.

I reason that the global weirding that is happening leaves the public, en mass, uncertain of the future so less mindful of the consequences of decisions. They could loose everything in the chaos of a butterfly wing on the otherside of the planet. So what difference does it make how considered the vote?
It only takes 50%.
As I threaded before, be afraid America, be very afraid. We are!
Just saying.

If the worst should happen, gallows humor will make a big comeback. I distinguish gallows humor from just making fun of people. Instead it is making fun of the conundrums and problems that people are put in.
No its not PC but it is a release and method to tell the truth in times of authoritarian control and fear.

That was a complimentary question, not some sort of nasty retort.

It was my dad who nailed education by stressing learning how to learn but Mom had a intuitive approach.

Beethoven killed his pet rooster not because it was loud but because it seemed to be saying Bach Bach Bach.

Be aware, Donuel. Beethoven is my only hero, and I really don't do heroes...

Beethoven (actually von Beethoven) was a drinking buddy of Moe Zart, Jack Awfulbach, Clod Debuss, Fanny Mendeal Herself, and a whole gang who tossed pots in Vienna back in the late 1700s. Ludwig (called "Lewd" by his friends) was always playing jokes like putting Morse Code into a symphony or writing about a Elise's furs (he predated von Sacher-Masoch's problems). He lost his hearing when, in a period of his musical career which is now lost, he wrote Metalltod Rockmusick für Kopf schlagen.

Steve when I was 15 a lithograph of Beethoven in his study hung above my desk for inspiration while I struggled with orchestration. The litho is well over 100 years old now and the only similarity is that I am hard of hearing. You probably know the litho with Ludwig at the piano among a proper mess of manuscripts and instruments.

I think it may be my avatar on a forum somewhere. I have a Beethoven bust for my inspiration, not to speak of five sets of the late quartets, three sets of the late sonatas and four versions of the Diabelli Variations.

The Diabelli Transformatons is the single greatest example of a resounding ass kicking of a banal theme from a pop composer of his day and turning it into a diamond. Just think how Beethoven could have elevated Coldplay.

Ultimate thread drift inspires me to say that while waking from general anesthesia, to order my thoughts I hummed the art of the fugue. To this day my brain is in the key of G minor.
