Just wanted to let folks know that John Matthews has just published a new edition of his Robin Hood book which includes a large collection of ballads. It can be purchased on Amazon or through is Hallowquest website.

there are myriad books about Robin Hood - the RITSON 2 volume collection of surviving ballads, a James Clarke Holt study from
3 decades ago which seems well received.
Anyone familiar with the literature, please provide a guide to
what is worthy of attention ??? Thanks!

John Matthews' previous edition is very well researched and interesting dealing with both fact and fantasy. This new expanded version seems even more so
