I am putting out a cd about codfishing. Might be room for one more song from alaska or pnw and one international but pretty filled up now . Need front cover picture from newfoundland. Can not pay royalties so it would have to be free. If you wanted to share one you would get free cd of course. Should be in bright sunlight, would love an iceberg but it will be called codfish in the spring of the year so not too wintry. Would love bright red fishing stage or house, white iceberg and bright blue water. I found one but out of my price range....no people except with their express permission...should be 300 dpi. Have not found the right picture on wikimedia etc. In us gov pictures are availaboe bit dont know about canada.

Try a gov marine agency, ichthyologist association or US Naval source.
I have a brother in law ichthyologist who contributed to cod fishing policies. Try online first then try snail mail.

Google Image search, free to use or modify, commercial okay. Large images.

Google mixes other fish in with cod, so you'll have to look at each carefully.

thanks. i am following your advice but have not found the perfect one yet...

except this one but i can not afford royalties. this has the colors i am looking for..would rather a bit more water, a boat, but i do want brilliant color. no fog, rain, twilight, sunset etc. i have a template in my mind i am trying to reach.

i have found a couple that are ok on stock photos like alamy but it sounds like it would be 50 dollars for something you are not sure will not expire on you. i think i will hold out for something from a friend of a friend or something...

CAN an expert tell me if this is a Wikimedia commons picture? I can not identify it but I found it by searching under wikimedia commons so it could very well be. If it is, I will crop it and might use it...
