Subject: BS: Theresa May - Brexit
From: Nigel Parsons
Date: 19 Jan 17 - 03:59 AM

By now UK members will have had a chance to discuss the PM's message from Tuesday. I posted a parody yesterday, but due to a poor choice of thread title nobody's commented.
Parody: The Original Article 50

Cheers
Nigel

It was a racist diatribe then Nige, that's still how it reads now, perhaps that's why you got no takers.
Perhaps you intended it as satire, I apologise if you did, but it's a bit too near the truth for my taste, sort of what happened to Alf Garnett when he fell into the wrong hands.

"Racist diatribe".
That's the standard, play the racist card for anything you don't like.
There are mentions of many nationalities there, but no 'Race'.
If you believe that any one of the nationalities mentioned there have specific traits that would enable them to be treated as a 'race' then you are guilty of the very racism that you accuse everyone else of.

I still remember your comment about collecting tins in Yorkshire.

It seems you may be more bigoted than you believe.

"but no 'Race".
A bit nit-picking Nigel.
I've always considered attacks on other nationalities a form of racism, when done by politicians, as with Brexit, opportunist racism.
Happy to stick with Xenophobic, if it makes you more comfortable!

calling the french frogs is racist. race doesn't exist but racism does as do crazy race theorists like nigel who thinks he can y=use racist epithets because there are no races.   that's twisted bigotry of a very special sort. its called anglo racism. anglo racists think they have good reasons for their bogotry unlike the bad people. ALL RACISTS THINK THEY HAVE GOOD REASONS FOR THEIR RACISM, that's what makes them racists.ALL RACISTS THINK SPLITTING HAIRS MAKES OPEN BIGOTRY AND DISCRIMINATION OK, that's why they are racists. anglo racists do make a speciality of hair splitting and rationalizations, but its still racism. i think europe will be glad to see the back of you.

There's a wonderful cartoon in this morning's Times (usually reserved for Corbyn-knocking) entitled "Trumpspotting - Hooked on the Donald" parodying the remake if Trainspotting - wonderful caricatures of Mat, Johnson, Davis, Fraagre (and one I don't recognise) under the caption "Such a bunch of crawlers - Sooooo Sad"

A little surprised there were no responses to my last post. I expected Ake and T and others would tell us how that shows there will be a good trade deal for the UK with the US.

My feeling is that the UK will be as near to the head of the negotiating queue as the US can manage, but primarily because the UK Brexiters will be desperate to get a non-EU trade agreement in place to prove it can be done. Entering a negotiation when you are desperate for an agreement is about the weakest position you can be in, and against an "America First" stance with strong negotiators - which Trump definitely is - does not bode well. If this takes place when the UK has a few agreements in hand, it would not be so weak. So, as I say, I predict it will be early.

its the anglo racist way to say disgusting things then when identified for what they are to accuse the others of racism. because we all know the terrible persecution white anglo men suffer and have suffered historically, very donald trump, call french frogs then accuse others of racism. you don't need more than that to see what scum nigel parsons is. it's in fact the hitler doctrine. accuse your critics of what you actually do.   anglo culture is racist to its core.

Just to say that the remark above about collecting tins in Yorkshire relates to a context deliberately ripped away by Nigel. It's typical light-hearted Lancashire Lad vs tyke bit of banter and "refusing" to see it that way is both disingenuous and po-faced. As a Lancashire lad (tho' one with good mates, including my sister, in Yorkshire) I offer you this owd chestnut and challenge to call me racist (though I don't mind if Raggytash adds his embellishment):

Now she has been extremely dishonest about a failed test-firing of a Trident missile, failing to admit to this just before a Commons vote on renewing Trident. If you get a chance, listen to her evasions when questioned by Andrew Marr this morning. The relevant part of the interview in on the BBC news website. She knew about it all right but clearly decided to withhold disclosure of the incident from MPs. This really ought to come back to bite her on the arse.

Iains -
the country in which I live had a majority vote to remain in the EU- yet it appears that despite being an equal partner in the UK our wishes are being totally ignored!
(and being as how it was our king what joined the two kingdoms in the first place that does seem unjust/illegal - even to a republican!)

Correction Gallus Moll the part of the country in which you live voted to remain in the EU, other parts of the country voted in a similar fashion. Only trouble is the rest of the country (52% of the electorate who managed to get out and vote) voted to leave. It is a mighty strange democracy that requires the elected government to go to the lengths of holding a referendum then ignore the result. The country in which you live as far as the EU is concerned and as far as any treaty and agreement goes is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and it has been so since 1707 - it was not joined by a Scottish King but by separate agreements of both Parliaments.

Like your strange view on equal partners whereby 5 million have the right to dictate to 60 million.

Straightforward fact for you Gallus Moll - at the moment, put in SNP terms, the vast bulk of Scotland's economy, production and commerce relies on trade with the EU purely by dint of the straightforward fact that 80% of Scotland's trade and commerce is with ENGLAND. Economically for Scotland the Union with England is four times more important and vital to Scotland than any link to the EU.

Your Empire jingoism is showing again Teribus - because two nations trade doesn't mean one should rule that other.
Whatever way a people vote - for whatever reason they choose - it never changes what they are - as with Ireland, you can't vote yourself another heritage, history and culture - you are what you are.
One of the positive legacies of Brexit could well be the end of the U.K.
I doubt if a Scottish referendum would produce the same result after this present fiasco
I seem to remember one of the main arguments for opposing giving the colonies independence was "They can't manage without us".

Teribus, if you're going to correct someone, check first: The country in which you live as far as the EU is concerned and as far as any treaty and agreement goes is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and it has been so since 1707
For treaty purposes, the country is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

BRAVO!
So Scotland doesn't need to be part of the UK just to trade with the UK.

Similarly, The UK doesn't need to be part of Europe to trade with Europe.

"Own goal" methinks.
