Subject: Lyr Add: Homeland Security (redux) From: GUEST Date: 19 Feb 17 - 06:29 AM Homeland Security -(tune of Old Time Religion) Lyrics (Homeland Security) Wrote this tune 2002. May be coming back in vogue. CHORUS: Give us that homeland security. Give us that homeland security. Give us that homeland security, Or we'll call the cops on you. VERSE: It'll be good for our sons and daughters. It'll be good; we'll close our borders. It'll be good for law and order And it's good enough for me. CHORUS Let's hire some teenage spies; Send your prints to the FBI; Check your background before you lie, Or we'll call the cops on you. CHORUS Need some military tribunals; No more terrorist victim funerals. Lock up alien suspects soon or we'll Call the cops on you. CHORUS Need a White House cabinet post To be filled by the Holy Ghost. Guard our country from coast to coast, Or we'll throw the book at you. CHORUS Hallelujah! Save our daughters. Hallelujah! Close our borders. Hallelujah! Law and order, Or we'll call the cops on you. CHORUS |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Homeland Security (redux) From: voyager Date: 20 Feb 17 - 12:13 PM Cross post from Homeland Security 2002 thread @joe - song credited to Tim Weil (aka voyager). Can we add this to DT (or not)? You know, 'harvesting' Bit of background here....in the fever of 200x 9/11 anxiety and the era of DHS/Patriot Act this lyric came to me while leaving the DC Beltway en route to flatpick music camp in Marysville, TN. Realized that a conservative East Tennessee audience might not be hip to this song, I brought it back to lib-dem Takoma Park and performed this at City Council session. They liked it. Seems like a good time for a revival voyager |
