Subject: RE: BS: Hail Freedonia From: Donuel Date: 01 Mar 17 - 08:36 AM I went to college at Fredonia NY. SUC Fredonia and how. The Marx Bros had real interactions in the town's collectives. I am such a fan with original art and stories its practically embarrassing. |

Subject: RE: BS: Hail Freedonia From: robomatic Date: 01 Mar 17 - 01:49 PM I have a vague recollection of watching a Marx Brothers movie with an English audience. There is nothing vague in my memory about the way they lapped it up. I don't have an American audience to specifically compare it to, because I've mainly witnessed the Marx Brothers products on television. But there was something communal in the English uptake of the movie that seemed to me different than how Americans would have reacted. |

Subject: RE: BS: Hail Freedonia From: Helen Date: 02 Mar 17 - 03:59 PM I love the Marx Brothers movies, and of course, Harpo's and Chico's musical performances. I go to a local club in Oz and there have recently been a new lot of poker machines with very loud digital instrumental versions of classical music when the player wins a prize. The music includes the Mozart earworm from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, the Toreador Song from Bizet's Carmen, Rossini's William Tell Overture, etc but the funniest one (for me) is the song Hooray For Captain Spalding from the Animal Crackers movie. The chorus starts at 2:15 mins into the video. Helen |
