Add an ism to almost anything and you magnify and transform something into a brand name or religion. Today Trumpism is used as a popular descriptor. Tomorrow we might have freedomism which will be fundamentally different from freedom. It has an Orwellian feel about it. What makes this B.S. is that I don't really have a point except that an ism empowers the great or small.

Senator McCarthy started off typically but once a derogatory ism was added he wielded a powerful weapon.
Even Mudcatism sounds dreadful but ism is not an automatic negative. Federalism, Capitalism, Corporatism, Terrorism...

I have an inscrutable fear of the next ism. I do not think it will come from the people but instead promoted as the next snake oil cure.

What are the key isms that control our world? What are the new ones?
What are the godawful ridiculous ISM's?
