From: gnu Date: 18 Oct 17 - 07:26 PM American Idiot Green Day 2004 Don't wanna be an American idiot Don't want a nation under the new media And can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mind-fuck America Welcome to a new kind of tension All across the alien nation Where everything isn't meant to be okay Television dreams of tomorrow We're not the ones who're meant to follow For that's enough to argue Well maybe I'm the faggot America I'm not a part of a redneck agenda Now everybody do the propaganda And sing along to the age of paranoia Welcome to a new kind of tension All across the alien nation Where everything isn't meant to be okay Television dreams of tomorrow We're not the ones who're meant to follow For that's enough to argue Don't wanna be an American idiot One nation controlled by the media Information Age of hysteria It's calling out to idiot America Welcome to a new kind of tension All across the alien nation Where everything isn't meant to be okay Television dreams of tomorrow We're not the ones who're meant to follow For that's enough to argue Songwriters: Billie Joe Armstrong / Frank E. / Iii Wright / Michael Pritchard American Idiot lyrics ? From: Donuel Date: 18 Oct 17 - 08:58 PM The chorus has no umph If the music has a melody and a counter melody to the same chord progression, you could sing the chorus on top of the last four lines of the six line stanza with good effect. (louder each time) Where everything isn't meant to be OK Television dreams of tomorrow We're not the ones who're meant to follow For that's enough to argue (vague - nonsensical - awkward without resolution) how about an easier clearer positive chorus to sing and remember They will tell you who and what to fear They will tell you when the coast is clear They only look at their bottom line think for yourself and you'll be fine steal a fav chord progression and you got a kick ass song. oh, its done already, I'll get me hat. |
