Only a diehard scrolls back through all the offerings regularly.

Fie on you! Keep that thought to yourself. MOM is nearly 60,000 posts and every one of them is precious. (This is the count after the "schism" in which the server lost a few thousand posts back about 6-7 years ago).

I have never intentionally opened the MOABS thread. On the rare occasions when I have caught it by accident, I simply close it without reading and get on with something more useful in life.

I would never look at a 1000 message thread, too much to read, even a 100 would have to look vital.

The MOAB was created to be a repository for off-the-wall thoughts which would otherwise require the creation of new threads.

Do you really want to see a new thread created every time someone wonders why signs in road construction zones say "Road Work Ahead" when the problem is that the road doesn't work ahead?

I thought the purpose of MOAB was to take up space and see how many posts people could make. What I'd LIKE is if people posted because they thought they had something worth saying, but I'm just one voice, one opinion.

If I have a bright idea about "Road Works" that "don't", it would be in a Joke Thread for 20XX.

Thread drift is thread drift. And I would bet the same person would praise it in MOAB and wail when seen in their own thread.
