Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: Jim Carroll Date: 19 Sep 19 - 08:15 PM He no longer has a majority but he still has the support of the fundamentalists If he survives it will be a crime against the Jewish people He is an extremist who supports Trump's now open antisemitism - with his silence and by naming buildings and railway stations after him He is fighting corruption charges as was his wife, who is now a convicted criminal (and apparently has serious mental health problems) His election promises to annex even more illegally held land stands to turn an already inhuman situation into one of open ethnic cleansing I keep getting pop-ups from the Israeli Labour newspaper which has mounted a "fight for a democratic Israel" campaign, which is a measure of how extreme things have become in the State that was established to take in the survivors of one of the world's worst acts of right wing extremism Time he was long gone Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: mg Date: 20 Sep 19 - 12:05 AM this is one of the best news items in a long time. each time the world turns it has a chance to turn for the better and this is for the better. |
Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 20 Sep 19 - 12:38 AM I read a story that said a much more centrist coalition is going to be the result and Bebe will no longer be able to promote all of the ultra-religious and right-wing agenda items. It is a good thing for Israelis as a whole. |
Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: Jim Carroll Date: 20 Sep 19 - 03:26 AM And the rest of the world Stilly It is being ignored that over the last year and a half Israel has now murdered three times as many unarmed demonstrators as did the Apartheid regime during the Sharpville massacre The most worrying thing is that it has become antisemitic to mention that fact - Nessie is defining his actions as 'Jewish', bringing about the resulting rise in world-wide genuine antisemitism A great achievement for a State that claims to represent the Jewish People Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: Jim Carroll Date: 20 Sep 19 - 06:19 AM Benny Gantz has rejected Nessie's proposal for a coalition which leaves the 'Blue and Whites' the option to work with other parties He's an unknown factor to me - but anything must be better than what's gone before Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: BS: So, what about the Israeli election? From: Mrrzy Date: 20 Sep 19 - 10:04 AM Is it just me, or does 3x in a year and a half compared to one event not sound that bad? I mean yes it's bad but the comparison seems forced. So, good news basically, yes? |
