Subject: Clara Rockmore and Paul Robeson From: Jack Campin Date: 27 Sep 19 - 03:48 PM The greatest theremin player ever, Clara Rockmore, did two or three concert tours with Paul Robeson in the very early 1940s. (It seems Rockmore was as far ahead of her time in racial politics as she was in music technology). Recordings of them performing together would be sensational, but it seems there aren't any - at least, the theremin community hasn't found them. Anybody know better? |

Subject: RE: Clara Rockmore and Paul Robeson From: Jim Carroll Date: 28 Sep 19 - 09:33 AM Yes it is - thanks a million Keb I have a recording of him at Peekskill with Pete Seeger and Howard Fast - along with the digitised book, if anybody would like them I'm told he kissed me on the forehead when he visited Liverpool, but I must have been either too young or too drunk to remember Jim Carroll |
