Like a pair of old shoes. You know like threads of support, weather, cleaning, what you put in your gut, mother of all BS - which passed away with Spaw and Amos. (not what they wanted)
There is still a virtual boring competition but not in a vitriolic vituperative sense. People with a sensitive ego get their buttons pushed out of their own imagination most of the time. I've said it before, ego is not our friend.

Well I like to contribute to both boring and inflammable threads. If I might say so, the problem we have in the latter especially is not so much the reactors as the button-pusher(s) because the latter are (is) exceptionally persistent and vexatious. I know there are occasional non-persistent button-pushers (boy, how I love to push BWM's dog button on rare occasions) and that reactors can be their own worst enemies. But we are all human beings with more dimensions to ourselves than are on show here (and I strongly suspect that some of the ones that ARE on show here are fake). But boring threads are comforting and you're going to carry on getting my recipes and tiresome jokes whether you like it or not.

Max closed the MOAB because it was putting too much of a burden on our system. Even though it's closed, please read it in segments.

Steve and I differ on what is a joke. Of course we do. Different countries, culture and exposure. Also on food. I eat to live and he sounds like a gourmet cook who lives to eat.
As in the closed thread it is said that its the one whose reaction causes controversey. Sometimes why is hidden, sometimes an attack is perceived and sometimes it is ingrained behavior.
I'm glad its not all boring.

I find your jokes a bit mediocre compared to Jim Carrol and others who have better memories or joke books. In fact in your case the apple fell far from the tree and rolled into an unfunny ditch. Who hurt you?

Without knowing it Steve does comedy feuds with me which I have enjoyed since I first heard Jack Benny feud with Fred Allen, Abbott with Costello etc. but in the end it all falls down and ends with his tears and anguish.
As slow burn schtick goes, its OK, even if he is clueless or thinks its real.

I am fond of the double or triple entendre. I think in terms of cartoons but Bill Mahre has both and his writers are top shelf.I have made the same jokes but never better ones. Different countries current events are beyond me too. Creating a cartoon or joke for the ages is one of the most difficult things to do. New Yorker Magazine is always on the lookout for those. One of my own favs was an alien and Einstein calculating a gravitational wave as one hits them both. Unless it is a link I post things in real time right here. Boring as ever I don't care about name calling competion or one upsmanship. I have seen many experts here who demanded respect for their expertise but that is of a different generation. Now folks are impressed with what goes viral but I've been there and done that with no real reward. Lots of people on the internet manage to make drivel pay via ads. They are the Madmen of today. Streaming consciousness like this is boring unless a person is psychotic.
