Here's the YouTube recording of Country Joe's performance:
He makes some tempo variances, but the melody is exactly the same as Woody's.

Maybe 15 years ago, Joe McDonald did a Woody Guthrie memorial tour, and all the songs he sang were from Woody (except for the requisite performance of "Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag"). Joe's storytelling was great, too. He was performing at a theater near where I was working, so I decided to attend - without a reservation. They were sold out, but I waited outside in the cold to see if there were no-shows.

About 10 minutes before the performance, Joe came out and handed out his comp tickets to us who were in line - so I got in for free. It was a great concert, and I will forever be grateful to him.
