Tibetan rebels launched attacks against Chinese government officials and troops on March 19, 1959, and Chinese troops launched a counter-offensive against the Tibetans on March 20, 1959. Chinese government troops captured Lhasa on March 25, 1959, resulting in the deaths of some 2,000 Tibetan rebels

The People's Republic of China (PRC) claims that Tibet is an integral part of China. The Tibetan government-in-exile maintains that Tibet is an independent state under unlawful occupation.

Could this be a thinly disguised effort to revive a much-maligned thread that was recently closed, whatever, while I detest war with every fiber of my being those numbers give me a degree of comfort.

Gillymor, were you are of those figures before?were you aware that China had such a big miltary expenditure? a country that has no scruples about invading its neighbour, you find it comforting ,I find it discomforting.

100 Years From Now Lyrics
[Verse 1]
100 years from now no one will care about
Anything you ever did, anything you ever said
And if by chance they do, you were probably a jerk
Or likely even worse, kept people down by force
But perhaps you were a saint, that's an honorable thing
Gave your life to help the poor, fought injustices and wars
Either way, you get the point, we don't have much time to waste, just
Find yourself a horse, and ride it till it breaks

[Pre-Chorus]
All anyone will say is
"Wait, what was their name?"
But don't worry, it's okay
Actually, it's great, 'cause
No one's keeping score, so
[Chorus]
So just get over
You-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, get over you, get over you

[Verse 2]
100 years from now you'll be floating through the air
While the cocaine that you did decomposes in your hair
If you're listening to this song then 100 years from now
You'll probably be dead unless you've figured out
How to change the serpentine belt, replace all your stem cells
Seven daily health tips, ketosis or kale chips
So what's it all about? Can't we figure this shit out?
Do we really have to fight if we all still have to die?

[Pre-Chorus]
All anyone will say is
"Wait, what was their name?"
But don't worry, it's okay
Actually, it's great, 'cause
No one's keeping score, so

[Chorus]
So just get over
You-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, get over you, get over you

[Verse 3]
A couple years ago my friend took a vacation
Thirty days of silence, tried to meditate some-
Where in Southeast Asia, I think it was Thailand
Either way, he showed me pictures from his camera, and
Written on the wall of the temple where he sat
It said "cut yourself some slack" and then this basic fact, it
Made me laugh out loud, so deep but yet so simple
It said "100 years from now, remember: all new people"

I find it comforting that the (not so) bad guys, i.e. the USA, has such a massive military advantage over Putin's murderous regime and China though I do lament all the money that goes into armaments the world over. Now I'm out of here before this dog gets put to sleep.

Quoth The Bard:

"The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft inter-ed with their bones...
So let it be with Caesar!"

why?
1. because it is still being occupied
2. To raise awareness that other super powers invade illegally.
3. To make people aware that the threat of war is activated by people who make money out of the Armaments industry., it would seem logical that those countries with the highest spending on armaments have the strongest interst in using their armaments
The Top 10 Military Spenders
Rank       Country       Military Spend 2019 ($B)
#1       The United States — $778 billion
#2       China       $261.0
#3       India       $71.1
#4       Russia       $65..
Russia is no 4
The Armament industry, is an ideal example of capitalist economics, making a product that has to get used, so more people are then employed making more weapons and afew owners get very rich
To justify this all political extablishments then produce a bogeyman who needs to be fought.
The political establishments[ particularly the superpowers] then turn round and say we need to do this to defnd ourselves, and Gillymor clearly believes that he is safe all the while his country has a bigger arms spending, than some other country.
of course if no one was allowed to have any armaments this would solve the problem, but then some very powerful people would not make so much money

noun: radical;

a person who advocates thorough or complete political or social change.
I believe war and civilian deaths will not stop until we have complete political change.

Then after the econmy has benefited from using armaments it then benefits by repairing destroyed buildings

China Says Military Spending to Grow 7.1 ... - The Defense Post
https://www.thedefensepost.com › Latest posts
7 Mar 2022 — China's military budget — the second-largest in the world after the United States — is set to increase by 7.1 percent in 2022.
at the present moment
China is not involved in any invasion or war other than in Tibet, so i conclude they are selling all these arms to somebody else

I know it sounds trite, but I'll say the same as I do every 11th November: We must remember to remember, lest we forget.
