I was trying to respect Ms O'Connor by not giving details of her mental and emotional health and the events in her life which had an effect on that. |

I was relieved to hear that Sinéad O'Connor's death was due to natural causes because she had a few rocky patches in her life and I respected the risks she took by standing up for her beliefs so strongly. Thanks Tattie Bogle for your professional knowledge. It makes sense that the cause of death stated on a death certificate would have to be medically specific but it does not have to be revealed to the general public via the media. |

Also, Angie McMahon, an Australian singer/songwriter sang Nothing Compares 2 U at the Sydney New Year's Eve 2023 as a tribute to Sinéad O'Connor. |

That's a strong, brave person in my estimation. |

The Heaney error was very rapidly corrected by the paper (on the same day) and a prominent note was added at the bottom of the article to that effect. It's my experience that the Guardian is generally at least as accurate in its reporting as any other paper and, unlike most other UK papers, it does not commit the journalistic crime of vexatiously mixing reporting with comment. Of course, nothing is perfect. |
