Scientists have confirmed that antimatter falls down not up.

Apparently up was thought to be a possibillity.

They don't yet know it it falls at the same speed.

There is very little antimatter detectable anywhere.

To my mind, if it fell faster it would then fall into black holes before normal matter and be removed from the universe.

When did black holes start to form in the history of the universe?

Would antimatter atoms form before matter atoms? If so could they could fall into black holes before the matter atoms formed?

I'll hand these thoughts over to the reall scientists among us.

Robin

Why aren't ant- protons called controns? And is there an anti- neutron that decays into a positron and an anti- proton if left alone for 15 minutes (or -15 minutes?)?

But my friend had a PET scan the other day, that works by anti-electrons (positrons). She didn't float away, but she'll need a nasty dose of chemo. I'm going to buy her some macassars when I've saved enough antimony.

Of course it was all predicted in the Vedas, and by King Herod Pater.

The day someone discovers negative gravity, they will have found negative time.

Discuss.

It seems to me that it would be extremely shocking if antimatter fell up. Having a bit of antimatter in an elevator, one could then tell, without looking out, whether the elevator was stationary in a gravitational field, or accelerating in the absence of an external field -- in contradiction with general relativity, which says they have to look the same.

Ah, but which way do antimacassars fall? (Sorry. Insipred by another thread.)
