In the US, Black History Month is in February, so an October post appears to be a non-sequitur.

I've pulled up this thread as the oldest extant and am adding some results from the advanced search to find threads on the topic of Black History Month. In the US many scoff that it occurrs during the shortest month, and in recent years many scholars and broadcast and publishers have extended their coverage to throughout the year. There is always room for improvement.

In the UK its Black History Month on the BBC right now. Therefore

1/ this thread is now US-centric by being changed to 'February'

2/ this thread is ignoring the UK's (aka BBC's) contributions

It's easy enough to show both in the thread title, but now we'll hear from other countries about their months. It really does need to be a year round thing, and I think we're closer to that now than we've ever been in the US.
