Let's bring him over to the UK - fare's are cheap and I'll split the cost of the fare and the necessary bid with at least five other gents and then we need need just one female (despite the rumours to the contrary Max appears to be male) who's willing to be entertained. I am not at all familiar with Welsh colloquialisms, but I presume your use of the word "chippy" refers to a dining establishment specializing in fish & chips. I recall as a kid in the American mid-west hearing the old ladies use that word to describe a young woman whom they presumed to be of loose morals. Since we're talking about Max visiting your side of the pond, possibly to see your "great chippy round the corner", I thought we might clarify the term, just in case Max's mom might be following this thread. :>)! |

I didn't quite come out of nowhere, it was just fortuitous timing, really. I frequent the 'cat from time to time, dating back to when Dick ran it as DT over on the Xerox PARCC site. Of course, it was MUCH smaller and simpler (and slower!) then. I have found the 'cat to be an invaluable resource over the years - as well as a rollicking good time!
I was THRILLED when the message board became available -- no more tearing out my hair over missing songs not in the database.
Three cheers for Max (and Dick)!

It's true that in real life I am very shy, nervous, and scared of people. I will go out of my way NOT to talk on a telephone, or ask someone for help....I even start sweating and get nervous when I do something as simple as checking out a library book, or buying stamps. If you met me in real life, you would probably never guess that I was the same person.
