Years ago I watched an animated movie version of 'The Last Unicorn' I've always wanted to find a soundtrack, 'cause the music was wonderful, but i've had no luck. can any of you help me?

Wow! Haven't read the book in an age. Anyway, I would start by finding the Video, which presumably, your tame video store will immediately stock for you. You can then research from the box, and contact the manufacturer. You'd be amazed how far I've gotten doing things like this. Conversely, you could just tape from the video.

AAAaaaaaaarggghhhh!!! I took Gypsy's excellent advice and searched the local video place....and they don't got it!! (Downside of living in a small town) So once again...can anybody help me?

Soundtrack was done by a group called, "America"...I'll see what else I can find out..I'm at work, but I have the video at home.

I could have sworn Art Garfunkel wrote and sang the song I remember liking a lot. I could be wrong though - I often am.

A friend of mine was able to buy the soundtrack a couple of years ago ... in Germany. I don't think it's available in the US (yet?). i've lost touch with her, or i'd ask for a dub myself! it's wonderful music, definitely written by America.

No prob! I actually dug it up from the bottom of a 30-day refresh while looking for something else. Kind of a bother that we have to re-refresh everytime we stop to look at one of the threads in the refreshed area, although the trip is worth it; I miss a lot of good threads if I don't go back there/then and look around.

The CD is an import- you may have some luck searching under "Das Letzte Einhorn" If all else fails, Amazon.com has some for as little as $21

by the way u can download them from a program called iMesh and u can even download the movie, u just type in the last unicorn and it comes up with all the things but they may not run because u get them from other ppl. Hope that helps

I just recently bought the movie on DVD (within the last 6 months) so it's definitely out there somewhere...great movie, and awesome soundtrack..it's been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.

I'm horrorified at the fact that not a single person in my school has seen the movie. It is my sincerist hope that all the world will be united under the unicorn banner sing that lonely anthem of freedom. I acttually got the tape "The Last Unicorn" and once I heard that there was book to I got to thinking 'How could the auther of thought of such a great book?!!!!!'

I never saw the movie; didn't even know it existed. The book is an old favorite, a battered paperback with a Gervasio Gallardo cover, re-read many times.

A side bit I always adored about this book is the thread of ballads & traditional song that run through it, particularly the onging giggle of the leader of the band of robbers writing and singing endless verses of a song about his (imagined) exploits. He wants to be as well known as Robin Hood, and is sure if he could ONLY play his ballad for Mr. Child, his fame would be secure. There are other snatches of things traditional or traditional sounding that Peter Beagle wrote. In the early days of the Cooper & Nelson & etc (I believe Paul Goelz at the time), Margaret Nelson took a witty bit from this book, set it to the tune of "Housewives Lament" and entertained us mightily ( "I knew when I loved by the way I behaved...")

I'm glad to hear the movie was good, because the book was grand.
