Subject: RE: T-Shirts From: Coralena Date: 03 Sep 97 - 02:04 PM Laoise, I have a strong adversion to anything promoting drinking. Do you believe folks from the Hills or Country are "some sort of hillbilly sippin' whiskey"? I love what is simple and basic and that to me is what folk music is.I was born and raised in the country and I don't sip whiskey but I am very fond of a tall cold glass of milk. |
Subject: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: ZORRO Date: 05 Oct 98 - 04:06 PM Mudcats and Mudkittens; I just got my Mudcat T shirt and it's beautiful. On Saturday, Bob (banjo bob) and I went to 111 music stores in and around Houston (Texas) until Bob found the perfect mandolin. I wore my MC T shirt. Well no one came up and asked for my autograph and while I'll confess that I've always been rather suave, debonaire and handsome, I felt more so in my MCT.. To repeat: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE (THOSE). ZORRO. |

Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Oct 98 - 04:13 PM I had my trigger finger ready on the "delete" button, Zorro. I was sure this was one of those Spam threads we've been getting a bit of lately. This is one crassly commercial message I'll totally agree with, though. Every true Mudcatteer needs an Official Mudcat T-Shirt. I wear mine every time I Mudcat. Since I've done a fair amount of Mudcatting since I got the shirt a few months ago, I suppose it might be time to wash it, but I have's gotten around to that quite yet. Hmmm. Reminds me of a song...click here, if you dare. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: Zorro Date: 05 Oct 98 - 06:17 PM To Einnor: It's a tear drop mandolin, a Fender I believe. I know next to nothing about mandolins, I'm a six string man myself.. any way, banjo bob loves it.. tired of all the banjo jokes...) |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: Einnor Date: 05 Oct 98 - 09:59 PM Regarding the mandolin, Zorro, it sounds like Bob is in for alot of fun. I am very fortunate in finding a tear drop shaped Gibson [EM 150] electric mandolin in Reading Pennsylvania. They have a very nice sound but the factory electric takes alot away , but awsome with an amp. |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: O'Boyle Date: 05 Oct 98 - 11:49 PM Hey Zorro I possibly have the same mando a Fender FM-52E SB with a bis butterbar pickup on it. I like it very much especially for the price I got it. The only draw back is the pickup is a single coil and has a tendency to buzz when I stand in the wrong place in relation to the amp. Any one got any suggestions as to how to fix this? Slainte Rick |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: Zorro Date: 06 Oct 98 - 05:13 AM Hey Joe Offer; Getting back to the theme of the thread, you might want to consider washing your shirt during those unfortunate times that mud cat falls and can't get up. Or, get an extra shirt. The shirts are really comfortable. I'm proud to have one. And I got my wish. I have the first one in the Houston Folklore and Music Society. ZORRO |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: BSeed Date: 06 Oct 98 - 11:52 AM Actually, it may have been Joe's shirt that made the 'cat crash. I think when the wind is from the east Joe's shirt adds to the Bay Area smog. --seed |
Subject: RE: YOU JUST GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE..... From: Einnor Date: 06 Oct 98 - 02:34 PM Hang on to something solid folks, I just placed the order for my Mud Cat T. I am hoping it will be the first one in B.C. Canada. I will wear it proudly with the confidence that I am nearly bullet proof with it on. |
