BS: John Simon

I just located two of my favorite all time albums on CD. John Simon's first 2 albums. Only available from Japan, but I got them.

John Simon mostly worked as a producer (The Band's first few albums, Paul Butterfield, and even the Cyrkle-Red Rubber Ball I'll Come Bouncing Back to You.) One album is very Band-like with Richard Manuel (RIP), Rick Danko (RIP), Leon Russell, the background singers of the day-Venetta Fields, Merry Clayton, etc., and a host of others. The second is really jazz with another allstar cast. They still sound as fresh today as they did 30 years ago. Ain't the internet grand!!

Had he anything to do with the "concept" album "You are what you eat". If so I think he also did some production work for singer/composer Pierce Turner. Turner has had three albums on Beggers Banguet, hard to find but well worth the effort.
