I heard one yesterday on the Paltalk session sung by Jacko that was pretty good. He said it might be in the DT but if not he will post the lyrics/chords, so keep your eye out for it.

It was about coffee in a proper coffee pot......

this is the chorus of th coffee pot song that I know, as sung by Cosmatheka a comic duo, who did english music hall songs. Sadly one of them died last winter of Flu! No doubt someone will be able to post the rest if not I'll look them up some time this week.

But as for the song in the thew thread title, the proper title of the song is "Percolator Twist," and the Harry Fox Agency Songfile.com Website says it was written by "Bideau, Freeman." It appears on several recordings by Billy Joe & The Checkmates, and also on the Walk Don't Run album by the Ventures.

Who Wrote That Song (by Dick & Harriet Jacobs) says that "Percolator" (1961) was written by Lou Bideau and Ernie Freeman, popularized by Billy Joe and the Checkmates.
This is an instrumental song on both the Billy Joe and the Checkmates and the Ventures recordings - I found no lyrics. Seems to me that this tune was first in a coffee commercial - am I correct?
