Subject: Babes in the Wood From: GUEST,Atriema@aol.com Date: 17 Dec 00 - 07:25 PM Hello I have been looking for a copy of this song by the Copper Family but have been unable to find it, Thought I had found it and ordered it but have heard nothing from the people I ordered it from. If anyone knows where I can get a copy or would be willing to share a copy I would be eternally grateful. Thanks for your time! Tiffany Hamilton |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Babes in the Wood From: Jeri Date: 17 Dec 00 - 07:54 PM Tiffany, if you live in the US, you can call Dick Greenhaus at Camsco Music at at 1-800-548-3655. Camsco has a huge selection of folk recordings and Dick's willing to get something for you if he doesn't have it in stock. (I'll bet he has the Coppers, though.)

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Babes in the Wood From: GUEST,marshman Date: 18 Dec 00 - 08:36 PM Just thought I might mention the Walter Hyatt song "Babes In the Woods" that is sung by Lyle Lovett on his double album "Step Inside This House". Perhaps it is the same. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Babes in the Wood From: GUEST,Tiffany Date: 18 Dec 00 - 11:52 PM I have checked and you would think with the title being the same that the song would be too, but its not. Thanks for the idea though!!! |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Babes in the Wood From: Garry Gillard Date: 19 Dec 00 - 09:37 PM My official unofficial Coppers page has information about how to buy Bob Copper's book from the source himself. (As well as all the lyrics to all the recordings.) Gaz |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Babes in the Wood From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 20 Dec 00 - 12:07 AM Since it was a recording Tiffany wanted rather than printed sources, here is a list (not necessarily complete). "Babes in the Wood" is currently available sung by the Copper Family on these recordings (various lineups): Coppersongs 3 [Coppersongs CD3, 1998] Bob, together with his son, daughter and son-in-law, and his six grandchildren. English Shepherd and Farming Songs Bob and Ron Copper, a live recording made by Peter Kennedy in, presumably, the late 1950s /early 60s(?)
