I heard Colin Raye with just an acoustic guitar on TV the other night singing an old song that I can't remember who did it , but I remember it from somewhere; " And I love her so, the people ask me how, how I've lived 'til now' I tell them I don't know.

It has been in my head for several days. Wish i knew the words and chords!!

Don McLean did a version of it, but I think the original was recorded by Perry Como.

The song was written by Don McLean. Couple of minor corrections:

"And yes, I know, how lonely life can be..."

"But I won't let the evening get me down..."

"I'm happy that you do..."

"The book of life is brief..."

"This is my belief."

Always loved that song. Never knew exactly why until I met my wife.
