Subject: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 01 Mar 01 - 11:08 PM Hello! Finally my story has found a new home: ~*hesperis*~ Go to the Critter Tail Inn for hamsters, and the Mudcat Magic Tavern for the story. The pw is silverwheel Don't forget to bookmark my site, and please sign the guestbook on the Tavern page to let me know what you think of my story. (Or just sign the main guestbook on the main page.) The cast list has been updated. I have also added a list of the places in town for background, in lieu of writing the next part. (Don't worry, it's coming!) This means I need more people, as some bit parts opened up when writing out the town. All I need now are a few more courtly faeries, a Metalworker (artiste type), a Pottery Maker, the beefy Meat Shop guy, Tea House Lady, the keeper of the Forest Gate, and the Townkeeper. (Mostly tiny bit parts.)
Look at the first two threads to know what's going on: Enjoy! ~*sirepseh*~ |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 01 Mar 01 - 11:39 PM Oops, just found out the links to the newest part didn't update! You need to access the Places from the Tavern or the Cast List, all others are broken links, sorry. Homestead doesn't like updating, it seems... I re-uploaded all the pages. *sigh* So go to the Places in Town part first, and then go elsewhere. |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 02 Mar 01 - 06:49 PM Matt had that problem once, too, Katcina. Check the end of the second thread for how to solve it. (Me too tired to arrange my words clearly today.) Thanks, guys! Will try to get the next part up in this coming week. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 15 Mar 01 - 12:35 AM Part 4 is up. I need to update the cast list again, but that will have to wait until after the move! Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Irish sergeant Date: 15 Mar 01 - 07:32 PM Hes, Sweetie Baby, I love it can we kill for the movie rights Sollie at universal bugranch studios will die!! But seriously, I just read all three parts and the lists. The meat shop guy could be Ruaidhri Fogartaigh (Pro nounced Rory Fogarty) Species(?) Human. Race:Geali Ruaidhri weighs twenty stone (280 lbs.) and stands six feet even. He is a red head with smoldering green eyes. He can pick a two year hold heifer up form a dead lift. He secretly loves Bubbles and you can resolves that as you will. He's not terribly brilliant but he can cypher and read enough to get by. He is however a shrewd if honest merchant. His best friend is Aidan the Wanderer. He likes to drink Black ale. Ironically, he whittles delicate figurines of the Godess and secretly leaves them where Bubbles will find them. O.K.- the truth is it's your story but I got carried away with Ruaidhri. It is a great start and I can't wait to see part IV. Take What you can use for Rhuaidhri Who prays the godess grant his one wish , to make Bubbles happy. Kindest reguards, neil |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 16 Mar 01 - 06:09 PM wdyat12 - Thanks. Saw you in the guestbooks, didn't know it was you. Now I know. I should read more "welcome" threads, eh? neil - Perfect! That is so sweet. Jande - yep, moving tomorrow, and then cleaning this ol' place up for the new people. Hawk has gone to find me some boxes suitable for books. I need a lot of them. I'm not doing laundry for a few days either, just sticking the dirties in the laundry room. Mike Latter and Johnny Death will be helping us tomorrow at 1 pm. Hope I can get most of the stuff off the shelves by that time. No computer tomorrow, either, and I had better call the phone guys to make sure they switch my line over! I have a dull headache, and am exhausted. Oh, well, the new place is beautiful, and is a *very* good place for music.
Hugs all round, |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Jande Date: 16 Mar 01 - 06:20 PM Well, try not to knock yerself out too much with the moving, Hes! James and I will be over to visit on Saturday, I think. Not *this* Ssat. but the *next* one.
(Urk! 400 mile trip coming up again!) What are ya gonna feed us?
Oops thread-drift. Great story! Want more! Want MAP! (soon as you can find the time?)

Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 16 Mar 01 - 08:14 PM D'oh! Sorry, the Town MAP is only partially completed, be warned, it's pretty basic-looking right now. The whole big Story MAP can't be done yet, because I don't know exactly where things are. I will do my best to finish the town's MAP soon, but right now I'm swamped with moving stuff, and the new changes at mp3.com |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Irish sergeant Date: 16 Mar 01 - 08:21 PM Hes: Glad you like Ruaidhri. I did visit the site and read all three parts of the story and checked out the cast list and map. It's great. Well done my friend! well done indeed. Kindest reguards, Neil. PS good luck with the move |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 02 Apr 01 - 06:04 PM Thanks, guys. NEXT PART IS UP! (The Interlude.) Matt - if you want to hear some of the music for this, go to www.mp3.com/chagall and listen to the piece called "Five Lands Theme - Glory". That is the theme music for this, I think... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Matt_R Date: 02 Apr 01 - 06:19 PM COOL!!! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Amergin Date: 02 Apr 01 - 06:23 PM Very nice, Hesperis....except that you seem to have lost the dialect about 3 quarters of the way through..... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Amergin Date: 02 Apr 01 - 06:24 PM Oh, and please take that as constructive criticism....and I did not mean to be rude or anything....I enjoy your story very much.... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 02 Apr 01 - 06:46 PM Matt - what's cool? The story, the music, the way I used your character? What? (I "need to know"!) Amergin - I know, I'm having a lot of problems with the dialect, as I don't speak it... Criticism is good. This story is only in the "draft" stage, really. I tried to put in enough dialect to let people know that it's supposed to be there... (Hope that the lack isn't too painful.) Some parts will have to be changed for the final version. And I would appreciate *any* help with that! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: kendall Date: 02 Apr 01 - 08:26 PM I do love a good story, and I especially like this kind of story. It reminds me of my favorite piece of fiction, SILVERLOCK by John Myers Myers. Very impressive, hesperis |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: Irish sergeant Date: 31 May 01 - 08:16 PM Hes: If you need help editing let me know. I do this for a living sort of. Besides. It'll shut that wanker Sollie ant Universal Bugranch studios up for a while. Kindest reguards, neil |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Story by ~*hesperis*~ From: hesperis Date: 31 May 01 - 09:31 PM Thanks, guys! I've been very busy lately - not an excuse, but an explanation. The other part of the explanation is that the crap with mp3.com really sucked the life out of me for a while. But I am still thinking about these wonderful characters!!! More up as soon as I can.
Love and hugs,
