I'm visiting Chester this summer. There used to be a folk club near the railway station, then I heard that it had moved away. Do any Cestrians know where the club is now (if it still exists) and what night is it on??

What was the Roman name for Folkinchester? I'm from Camulodonum, after those sodding Iceni sacked it.

Geoff - many thanks for the venue info. I know the Ravens from previous visits to the city but hadn't realised the folk club had moved there. Hope to get there over the summer - hope they've got something to sup besides Greenall Whitley!!

Woodchucks will be playing July 28 and August 18 at the Black River Brew-pub in Proctorsville, which is only about 8 or 10 miles up 103 from Chester...

What's that? Chester, ENGLAND? You mean England has a Chester? Who'da thunk it?

(Grin)

Peter.

There are 2 festivals a year around Chester - both past for this year unfortunately - one in February at (I think) Hoole community centre and one in May at the Morris Dancer in Kelsall. If anyone has an old leaflet it will have a contact number - maybe the festival organisers will know? I will see if I can find anything over the weekend.

Cheers

Dave
