So what are the planned events for this weekend then?

As I understand it, Liz, the programme begins with a *stew hurling contest* on the Friday afternoon. Followed by *indoor tent pitching & campfire-lighting*. The night will be rounded off with a *hamster-bake*. Spot the snorer during the dark hours. Saturday will kick off with *everybody back to own beds* for the compulsory *kazoo player bashing ritual*. The *Over 80s Nude Leapfrog* is cancelled owing to local statutes, but will be replaced by a talk *How Not To Hypnotise* (please bring own banjo) then its off to the pub to meet & displace the locals. The "Dog & Bucket" has set aside their "quiet room" for a melodeon & shantie session, and the ladies singaround will be in "the-main-bar-downstairs-next-the-gents". Back to the Jonathon King Memorial Scout Hut for *all-in wrestling & vegetarian chilli supper*. Sunday begins with a non-denominational dwile flonking service(again, bring own banjo). Goodbyes, name calling, and recriminations to follow the *camp striking ceremony* tho the more "camp" among you will probably wish to leave beforehand. Survivors descend on the town and set up alternative tea shoppe ensemble.

Thanks for your suggestions, Giok and MudGuard. I'll try them out as soon as I've found a learned article in the Lancet about either. I might also try an attack of my (by now chronic) anglophilia ...
Actually, I'd just need a day or two to get there. What really puts me off is still the fare (I'd like to take my car for sleeping) and the exchange rate. It costs us Continentals a fortune to go to Britain these days, let alone eat (and drink) there!
Maybe I ought to overcome my fear of flying and check out Luebeck to Stansted - without the car, of course.

I've got the Friday(to travel) and Monday(to recover)off work so I am definitely on for this...and quite excited (I don't get out much)I've got my kazoo ready.

Susanne...develop a severe case of Dwileflokinitis...come over without the car...just bring a sleeping Bag

Best not to ask, eh? Could be yours.

As Bill Bailey shares a house in Hammersmith with his good lady wife and a small menagerie, why would I want him to come to my house, Micca?

Mr Bailey was as brilliant as usual, managed to get himself upstaged by a member of the audience at which point I nearly wet my knickers ( possibly not how you would want them for flonking with ) . For a minute I thought Liz might have turned up, as a woman down in the stalls started to squeak in a very familiar fashion. She may have quietly chocked to death after Mr Bailey kept likening her to a chinchilla, who knows?

We will now pause for the collective mental shuffling away from the scary lady...............I thank you.

'Taint the public wots a liability. I'ts all them crazy folkies flonking their dwyles and doing unsavoury things to sheep & hamsters.
Sleep! Did someone mention sleep? I wouldn't dare, if I was you. Why do you think I've got padlocks & an inflatable moat round the motor home? I shall be adding sound proofing too, as an anti-kazoo precaution.
Fortunately, the roof is not flat, or the wife would keep me awake by dancing her Asian-apple stuff on it all night.

It's either Asian-Apple or Apple-Asian, forget which. Kay will no doubt remind me when she gets home.
You put jingle-taps on your feet, and itching powder in your socks then away you go.
I might see a way to make a couple of bob out of all this, if I was to bring my battery powered inflater & charge a quid a go.

Ah, Apple-asian dancing. I know, that's the one danced by mountaineers, quite often to Arcade music.

Hmm, skinny dipping in febuary. I don't know.....well.....alright then. Just so long as it's understood, that if I start to get out of the water, I am not to be treated as if I'm trying to "beach" myself, OK?

I haven't got any inflatable animals. Will a selection of hammers, clubs (as in blunt instrument) and swords do? I'll see what Parker's got stashed under the bed.

I had visions of grown men running around with their swords in their hands....now you tell me it isn't happening. Talk about shattering illusions! All I'm left with is the vision of dwile thonking, and I'm not entirely sure about the whole aspect of that one!

The only inflatable I've got is one of Munch's Scream which lives on my desk and I've promised that to my cubicle neighbour when I leave.

I have an inflatable guitar, which is part of our mummers kit. Shall I bring it?
(The trouble is that its a modern electric version rather than acoustic and also I don't think you can tune up it very easily! In our play it is usually used to hit me (Father Chrismas) round the head)

Kind friends and companions, come join me in rhyme ...

Since hearing of my skinny dipping plans with Lady Penelope, Lady McMoo has now also expressed an interest in attending, presumably to keep her beady eye on me, although my thoughts were of course as ever beyond reproach and I would only ever have considered going with the best "in tent". (Hang on there it's indoor camping though isn't it?)

Mrs Moo can surely have no worries about chaps skinny-dipping in February, unless Lady P is bringing a powerful magnifying glass.
After all, anything interesting is going to look like a walnut whip, only much smaller!

though I suggested inflatables, I only have my inflatable camp bed and am not willing to flail that around. Though will be charging 10p a puff to blow it up, as I find it's very often far cheaper than booze for making you dizzy... Having lost the blowy uppy thingy years ago, I have to blow it up by my own steam. Better than forty whiskys...

perhaps I can be a side show... roll up roll up... see the Ella turn purple red then grey and keel over stall...

Guess which colour she'll go next - or I can run a book on how many puffs...

Me thinks I will have to raid my neices stock of inflatable nonseses - which includes a desert island I think...

Sorry Ella, puffing your camp bed cannot replace real ale.
It can't make you visit the loo every five minutes, won't make you talk gibberish, fails to make any member of the opposite sex infinitely desirable, doesn't give you a hangover, and doesn't give you amnesia.
I'm sticking to the real thing, thanks.

After 2 weeks of looking I've found my kazoo. Now my weekend will be complete.
The large body of water is in MK somewhere, it's called Willen Lake but it's not a patch on a pirannah and mudcat infested inflatable moat in the car park. Looks like a digital camera is a must!!!!!!

Watch out chaps, if we don't calm down, we'll have had all the fun before we get there!

I never use magnifying glasses in uncontrolled circumstances as one stray sunbeam could cause an hirsuit disaster! Besides, I can never keep hold of the tweezers if I have cold hands!!!!

P.S. Gervase, you nearly put me walnut whips there.

In any group of three people, one of them will, at some point in their life, be classified as subclinically neurotic, or, to give it it's medical terminology, stark staring bonkers.

Luckily there's only two of me.

black mange, but is also known as blac mange, all depending on the area you are from, is a high contagious tropical disease, only curable with vast amounts of black mange cream applied EVERYWHERE!

Maybe, alan, but not before this:

I had a call from mister Bob Adams last night, he who is in charge of the building. He has pencilled the WHOLE PLACE over to us for the weekend, with the intention that we may use the soundproof studio for music after the music license expires, and the quiet space above it for sleeping... I am going over there tomorrow evening to get an impression of the place (i've only ever been downstairs in it :-))

Linda Smith and myself would like to make it to Stony Stratford if we can. Is there likely to by any space available for a small (11 foot) caravan on Fri/Sat. If not does anyone know of a nearby commercial (or CL) site - I don't really think I'll have the time to bring the boat up the Grand Union. Pity it's not the following week as we've got a gig at Foxton Locks.

McGrath, to quote from one of your other postings -

They wave cheerfully totally misreading your singular digital salute. I love doing that. Far more satisfying than giving back a V-sign or a finger. Only trouble is I, then I think that I've probably really annoyed that jumped up little shit, and he'll go on an kill some unfortunate road-user a few miles down the highway.

. . . . or give your vehicle a good kicking later.
Peace and Love, Kevin, Don't upset the locals even if you are out of Essex.
