But the music must be free (in Europe 70 years) because Gómid died 1939. Perhaps you are thinking of the Equadorian composer Segundo Cueva Celi (1901-1969)but he cannot be authora7composer of this song. Perhaps he arred it in a way.

No, in Spain, the European "author's life +70" isn't valid for authors who died before 1987/12/07. The former Spanish author's rights law applies = author's life +80. It's why Gomis' music isn't free. (Cf. Wiki and there at the bottom it reads that when the law changed, if "the author has died but 80 years haven't elapsed since his death, the heirs can enjoy the 80 years term till it's elapsed.")
