BS: SanDiego gatherings

Last summer while visiting San Diego's Balboa Park on my last evening there we were entertained by a group of folk/bluegrass musicians. As we were leaving one member of the group invited us to an open mic on some Tuesday of the month in Mission Bay some place. Do any of you know more detailed info on this, such as where and what Tues. and the time this takes place? I will be going in LATE July and early August and thought it would be fun to reconnect with them. I didn't pay much attention last summer as we were leaving and I was sure I could remember everything. Of course I can't! Any other folk gatherings around there during that time would also be fun. How about Mudcatters there? bet

bet, you might PM either Amos or The Banjoest for info about this. I think Banjoest knows where it is, anyway. He and Amos are both in the SD area. Also, try contacting the San Diego Folksong Society. They have a lot of info about folk happenings down that way.

The San Diego Bluegrass Society meets at Fuddruckers in the Grossmont Shopping Center in La Mesa, CA on the 2nd Tue. from 7-10 PM.

Is that the place?

No...it's inland about 10 miles. Mission Bay and Grossmont Shopping Center are connected by the same Freeway.(Highway 8 east) I'll look into it for you. Stand by.

North County Bluegrass and Folk, Round Table Pizza, Ash & Washington, Escondido. 1st. Tues. of the month, 7-10 PM.

South Bay Bluegrass Jam, Fuddrucker's, Chula Vista, 340 3rd Ave. 3rd. Tues. of the month, time ?.

Shriley's Kitchen Bluegrass Jam, Shriley's Kitchen, 7868 El Cajon Blvd. La Mesa. 4th. Tues. of the month, 7PM-when ever.

bet and Banjoest, I think it may have been Goodfellow who mentioned the Balboa Park jam in one of his posts. I can't find the post, and I forgot how to look up threads by the name of the person who started them, but if you PM him, maybe he can give you info about it.

My buddies and I use to play in Balboa Park, by the pond, back about 17 years ago. We have been thinking about doing it once again this summer.

Hey Banjoest, Why don't you do it soon. I THINK my son finally has all his legal things taken care of so I am about to go to SD to visit my daughter and to leave him with her. I'd love an excuse to go to Balboa Park. If you are going to play there please let kat know, she knows how to get in touch with me. Thanks for your help!
