I'm looking for the manodlin (or fiddle) tab for the song Horo Johnny -- does anyone know where/if I can find it on the 'Net, or whether it's available in printed form somewhere?

Just bumping this up on the list again, in case anybody has any kind of tab on this song . . . mandolin, fiddle; heck, I'll even take guitar tab at this point. ;-)

And if anyone has a .gif file with the musical notation, that'd be lovely, too.

Here's tab for the tune if played in A dorian.

And an abc of the tune as well (from which you'll be able to get the sheet music no doubt).

Print in Courier 8 pitch for best effect. If the formatting is all over the place when it hits the Mudcat boards, I can always e-mail the original to you!

I used my Tabledit program to convert the abc info to a file with the musical notation, tab and a midi of the song. The tab has the same intervals; but, the notes are fretted differently on the strings than your own tab of the song.

Did I mess up the conversion, or did the program read the abc info right? I admit, I'm no great shakes at the Tabledit program yet -- so please pardon my confusion.

DOn't know, Áine ... I've never used Tabledit. Maybe I've got the mode wrong. It sounded OK when played through my abc player.

Anyway ... the tab which I supplied works, so I'd stick with that (prettying it up as you see fit).

Sorry, a chara, I didn't mean to sound like your own tab wasn't right . . . I've been up all night working on a little project (I'll email you later), and I obviously misspoke.

Your tab sounded great when I played through it (well, not my playing, you understand, but your own notation - hahaha). It was just the abc playback that I had a question about. Like I said, it has the same intervals between the notes -- but, boy howdy, is it in a different mode all together. Not to worry -- I'll stick with what you gave me and it'll all be good ;-)
