Here we go again, with a quiz devoted to the written word. As with earlier quizzes, please do not post answers in the thread, but queries and claimed scores are welcomed. the answers will be posted in my usual answer thread in about 48 hours
I think this one is a little easier!

2, A book by Kipling about actress Miss Basinger?
3, A book by H G Wells in which the title character is rarely seen?
4, Agatha Christie book which promises seven years bad luck?
5, Agatha Christie play describing a type of cheddar cheese?
6, An alternative title for Beelzebub?
7, A workroom or reading room, painted bright red?
8, A book by Conan-Doyle, or, more recently, a sequel to Jurassic Park?
9, J.B.Priestly's description of Morse summoning Lewis?
10, 'Britain's most popular book", describing an aristocratic campanologist??
11, Shakespeare play about a modern board game (Previously titled Reversi)?
12, 'Baby Spice" of the Spice Girls?
13, A clean incisor, as described by Jack London?
14, The wife of Isaac, mother of Esau & Jacob?
15, A tale of Leo, a practitioner of magic, and a large clothing repository?
16, A book subtitled: "or The Modem Prometheus"
17, Any small village, or, a village without its own church?

O.k. I scanned it in from one of my past quizzes, The original was correct, but the 'Textbridge' software ran the r & n together. I missed it when re-reading

Apologies Masato, my first response may have seemed defensive. I should have said Thanks!

Thanks!

If the answer to 13 is White Fang, it is incorrect. The fang is not an incisor.

I have to make occasional errors to prove I'm human, But Chambers C20th gives a fang as a tooth of dog or wolf. And the adjective fanged as "having fangs, or anything resembling them".
Incisor is given as a cutting, or fore-tooth.
I may have been too liberal with the question, but I think everyone will arrive at the required answer (especially now!)

CHEERS

The Walrus is in with 18½/20, he's having problems with No 10 (No, not the Prime Minister's residence) and will surely kick himself when he gets it!

My wife used to get really upset with me for being so literal, but, I can't help it. Call it a learning ability.

Misophist: I try and keep answers out of the thread, but obviously you're not giving too much away, all correct except No10 (quickly checks the question just in case it was suitable alternetive answer!)
And yes, "The Nine Tailors" did involve Lord Peter Wimsey in a little campanology, but (to my knowledge) has never been voted Britain's favourite book. Several opinion polls have given the same response to this over several years.
For those not reading Dorothy L Sayers, the 'Nine Tailors' refers to the nine 'teller' (counting) strokes on a church bell to 'tell' of the death of a man, prior to the strokes counting out his age.
