Hello..

I'm going to be in the Elgin/Forres/Inverness area over Saturday and Sunday (28/29 September).

Can anyone suggest any sessions that might be running on either the Saturday or Sunday, around that area?

All suggestions welcomed. I'm looking to participate rather than spectate...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions..

Cheers

Steven

Thanks.

Yeah.. I've been to MacLeans before, and it's good. As you say, I will be just a bit too far north of there to make it feasible to spend the evening at the Taybank..

But thanks for the suggestions..

Cheers

Steven

I've just been told about a new place called Hootananny in Inverness whose advertising promises live music, possibly sessions, every night. And as for Elgin? Well, it is my home town and I love it dearly but all I can say is that if you're into line dancing you should be fine! There is a newish place somewhere outside Elgin called The Loft that sometimes has folk music. Colcannon played there in the summer.

Sorry not to be more help, Steven. I hope you find something. Let me know if you do!

The Loft is just outside Forres, and is really difficult to find, being in the middle of nowhere.. But they don't have participatory sessions there.

It is a great venue, however and the acts who play there are invariably top quality.

Thanks for the info.. I've been told that there's an event in Invergordon on Saturday which may have a sessiony aspect to it.. I heard about Hootananny.
I'll be in Forres on Sunday probably - visiting my brother and his family..

Thanks all for your input..

Cheers

Steven
