I have a student who believes there is a song written about an ancestor. I searched the DT and came away with no matches. He also said this ancestor was a seafaring man...ring any bells for anybody?

The only song I can think of is this round:

But that doesn't sound at all what your student is thinking of...

Do you, or your student, have any of the lyrics? That might more of a clue...
