Subject: Goin' on Vacation From: Jenny Date: 26 Jun 98 - 08:58 AM Well ... ya'll ... just wanted to wish you a great 4th of July celebration! I'll be on a 2-week historial vacation with my niece and nephew, ages 9 & 11, respectively, from Portland, Oregon. Will be in Morehead City, NC for a week-long family reunion (sitting around talking, catching up, & playing music), then on to the Outer Banks, Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Civil War sites. I want them to understand that the words "East Coast" are not synonymous with the words "Disney World." Will miss my 'Cat buddies and look forward to catching up when I'm back in residence. Happy Independence ... Jenny |
Subject: RE: Goin' on Vacation From: Bill D Date: 26 Jun 98 - 11:48 AM Jenny...just to throw a little temptation your way,( just in case your schedule is not TOTALLY crammed), the Smithsonian Folk Festival will be on the Mall in Washington DC. for 5 days each week(they take Mon & Tues off). Anyone remotely near Wash D.C. should see this once! |
Subject: RE: Goin' on Vacation From: Roger Himler Date: 28 Jun 98 - 08:18 PM Jenny, Have a fine vacation! Sounds like it is jammed pack. Talk to the people in Williamsburg who will do their best to stay in the role while carrying on a conversation. Roger in Baltimore |
Subject: RE: Goin' on Vacation From: Dani Date: 29 Jun 98 - 08:05 AM Just returned from a glorious week near where Jenny's beginning her sojourn. Wanted to second your comments about the Festival, Bill D. This will be the first year in a few that I won't make it :( Here's their website - it's a fabulous launching place: http://160.111.7.240/organiza/offices/folklife/fest98/start98.htm Dani, who still has sand in her shoes |
