Subject: RE: BS: RN Naval headgear!!! From: Melani Date: 16 Feb 03 - 12:39 AM There's an outfit called Berkeley Surplus on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, CA that might be able to get a line on one or even have it in stock. They've got military stuff from all over the world. I think he may be planning to be in the San Francisco Bay Area at some point; maybe he could get over there. |

Subject: RE: BS: RN Naval headgear!!! From: Teribus Date: 16 Feb 03 - 09:12 AM Any naval tailors in Portsmouth or Plymouth, although as you mentioned Rodney it will probably be a black cap, and those went out a long, long time ago. Good luck with your search. |
Subject: RE: BS: RN Naval headgear!!! From: GUEST,NH Dave Date: 16 Feb 03 - 11:47 AM Regardless of the color of the hat, you can always obtain a cover in another color, usually white, to go over the hat at ex-service stores. At one time all that was issued was a frame and covers of different colors, the hat did not have a cover sewn on. Dave |

Subject: RE: BS: RN Naval headgear!!! From: Dead Horse Date: 16 Feb 03 - 03:40 PM Would it not be possible to exchange it at a naval stores depot? Just a thought, but I know army stores can be helpfull when exchanging their kit. Access could be a problem, but if you know someone in the cake........ |
