Well the man has set off for the sun and left me with his epiphone.
Not being the type to be jealous that he has gone off to the sun without his new singing partner ( or did he say drinking) I wouldnt do anything like auction it on mudcat - or would I!!!!!!!!!

Actually Maggie is still looking for a small guitar. We could give it a respray and change the licence plates...

And here I was wondering whether you had misspelled 'epiphany' -- as in Persephone?

Pardon my ignorance. I'll just shut up now.

Maggie quite likes mauve or lilac. And that would also have the advantage that nobody would want to borrow it.

Yes, GUEST Red an (sic) White Rabbit, the word is Epiphany, commonly used today as a revelation so strongly felt that it changes one's sense of "Life."

well Doug having the Epi round has certainly been a revelation - I have learnt that drop 'D' means I can drop the thing lots of times and it still stays out of tune - how the hell do you tune these bits of wood? I have learnt that its too big a handbag for dancing round so the childers have climbed all over it instead. I have learnt that Mags likes mauve or lilac ( on with customising it now)and I have learnt that it is not going to make my fortune - what were Wednesdays lottery numbers?

I have a feeling that once MCFAT reads this I may well have a life changing experience!!!!!

(btw I reset my cookie as I was being lazy and signing in through the guest bit!)

Awfully sorry 'bout that plaid Rabbit. I only have to work with some Hoener Chromatics. No bits of wood, but my daughter jumped on the couch and found the old D-7. A Chromatic with a bent bar is of little use but at least it isn''t magenta.

Lilac bloody lilac. It better not be resprayed and re licenced otherwise I'll have to fly back pronto !! Have found my second spiritual ( or beer home) namely the Bieratta Lambrate.Lovely beer !!! Have done the tourist bit gone round the Duomo and looked at La Scala. Milan is very nice. Still haven't got the hang of sending e-mails. Soz Soos

send an e-card then MCFat!!

Thanks Doug for the advice about the sofa the kids decided to use it as a spring board to get over the sofa and so I have now found 'C' or should that be 'si' or 'see' cos they keep shouting 'see mum I can do it too!'

so I now have one string tuned to 'c' and one tuned to D-7 what about the other four??? I could pop it down to Anne Summers - that will give me the ol 'g' string and now I am left with 3 any suggestions for tuning those??

well the customizing is coming on a treat - Hey what about a lilac tartan in rememberance of the old git? Les I could add a touch of sunburst yellow

By the way it was broken before it got to me there was this bloody big hole in it so I put a bit of fibre glass over it to repair it - hope it sticks

btw have you thought of a new license plate for it yet?

Mags - what would yo like as a new

I wouldn't bother tuning those other strings. Jim never did.

The sunburst yellow sounds great though.

I went to MC's Thursday night home to thank him for Holmfirth and found out he had disappeared to Italy (knowing every Italian was here in Manchester watching football).

Mind I always thought Bieratta Lambrate was a sort of scooter.

The session was good though.

Dave

As any banjo player knows - them extra sytringson a guitar don't really do anything - they are just there for SHOW!
Any melodeon or bodhran player will tell you that ALL them strings are just unnecessary.
Just get it painted and sent to a good new home ( or if you can't manage that - to Hull)
Quack!

ok Les mauve lilac and sunburst yellow tartan it is

Dave I met with the lady from down your street on Thursday - very difficult to do songs in sign if you cant actually sign that well she has only a limited vocab and needs to learn more but hopefully I have pointed her in the right direction

could I use the extra strings for cutting cheese then? They have to useful for something as an indian (red not asian) friend of mine told me that all things must have a purpose and be used or should be given away - anyone want to by some cheese wire lovingly caressed by the hands of MCFAT? They could be used to set Duck traps perhaps Geoff - oops I mean banjo player - no I mean fox traps!!

Bieratta Lambrate is another name for rodents beer for ovibovines or is that black sheep?

MCFAT - does Italy live up to expectations?

No, the scooter's name is ( was, a long time ago ) Lambretta . Lambrate is the name of a place near Milano; maybe the place where they make the mysterious beer?

Nah,

Bieretta Lambrate is obviously an anagram. Lambretta bierate perhaps?

Have come back and the resprayed Epi was delivered (sob ! Sob!) it's actually very nice and will unveil it at Beverley. Soz I wisnae theere on Thursday Dave glad you enjoyed the sesh. Biarra Lambrate is not a scooter but is brewed on the premises of the Biarra Lambrate pub and is well worth a visit. It's a very whacky place, the beer is good and if you go during happy hour 7pm-8.30pm theres free food as well.

I hope I can rely on you, MC Fat, to restore it to it's former pristine condition, the one it enjoyed before these varlets got their greasy little maulers on it. Shame of them for the desecration of such a beautiful little instrument, they have no souls !!

Might we see you in the Bay this weekend ?

Penniless from the Italian sojurn so it may not be possible, but one never knows. Perhaps we could have a restore 'The Pristine Chap' fund, in order to aid restoration but then again the artist might find that her work has been desicrated and you know these arty types !!

what do you mean by 'you know these arty types'?

When you spoke to me on the phone you said you were looking forward to seeing it in mauve - well having got your permission what else could I do?

It took hours of painstaking work to remove formwer varnish, undercoat it, add base coat and then the tartan - and what do you mean Nick I wasnt ruff with it at all - it was 'all done in the best possible taste' as they say with care and thought and it goes with Mcfats sunburn!!!

He says it was Italy - I know he'd had a recall from Satan to ensure he was living up to role as hologram from Hell
