Thought some Mudcatters might wish to peruse it. Supposedly launched Friday, Curiously 24 hours later I haven't been able to access it. Anybody else able to access the link ? The news story :http://www.indystar.com/print/articles/5/055645-6705-031.html And the link : http://http://opengov.media.mit.edu rgds Diesel |

Subject: RE: BS: MIT student wesite on U.S. govt From: JohnInKansas Date: 05 Jul 03 - 07:13 PM As posted, you've got a "double" http:// up above. Have you tried it without the "extra" - or via the blue-clicky. I might note that MIT has a rather exotic security system for their student web, and it is possible there may be an "exclude locations" block - if you're coming in from a suspect region. Are you a spy???? I had no problem getting in immediately to copy the URL, or to check the link I posted, although they did indicate heavy traffic - probably as a result of the newsbit. John |

Subject: RE: BS: MIT student wesite on U.S. govt From: diesel Date: 05 Jul 03 - 09:59 PM Hmmm ! Double Http was the issue all right (Thanks John) Though waiting the hour or two alllowed instant access as oppossed to ssslllooowww time. Anyway - not yet as interesting as the release claimed. A lot of 'heavy traffic' sites and work in progress. Worth keeping an eye on its progress I think. Sorry I couldn't check it out before I posted - Ah well ! rgds Diesel PS - No I'm not a spy, but I am on a work computer.....hmmm - Big brother ? |
